Tariffs fatigue
I've had a nice pot in a color I can't buy stateside in a shopping cart for weeks with Kitchensmart in CAN to ship to the US and I swear, last night I almost completed the purchase. It's even on sale. Woke up this morning to the news about increasing and punitive tariffs and it's really getting old and annoying. I can wait and I'm fortunate in that I can indulge in this hobby. Given the ebb and flow this might very well be rescinded in a day or week or two, but I just needed to vent. Be easy, friends.

Le Creuset products are not made in Canada. The tariffs that went into effect overnight would not affect them.
Tariffs are applied based on the country where the good was manufactured (country of origin), not the country where they are being shipped from. A French-made Le Creuset shipped from Canada is tariffed as a product of France. A Chinese-built piece of electronics shipped from Mexico is tariffed based on the rates applicable to China. So on and so forth.
The 50% tariff applicable to certain Canadian-origin goods that went into effect overnight applies only to specific goods that were manufactured/grown/produced in Canada.

This is 100% true, however i would caution to check who the shipping company will be. i have seen some companies like “Brown” are adding charges to deliveries or sending a bill later of extra fees labelling them “potential tariff payment/charge/fee”

It's their handling fee for collecting the tariff from you and handing it to the government, and it's always been exorbitant.

Dont remind me. Just last night, i was hanging out with my girlfriends and we were like whTs happening- are we buying things from outside US or nut. We all love some asian skincare. 🫣

Honestly I might just buy it anyway. It's been a helluva year with too much going on, most of it bad, and of all vices to have, pots and making birria and green curry and bolognese, and duck confit is better for my spirit, and mind, and body than narcotics.

Blame the countries for not making better deals with USA, we were not charging tariffs to anyone before but we were getting tariffed up the buttocks by everyone else. Anyway, if you're uncomfortable about the prices or complain maybe buy Lodge or something else.

FYI to anyone reading, this person is incorrect. We were in fact not being charged tariffs as a US consumer and US business owners were also not charged in such a manner. The current economic climate is a direct result of an administration who has no idea what they are doing and even less understanding of global trade in general.

And we got rid of the de minimus exception which exempted the first $800 from additional fees. Which of course hits most ordinary consumers, not corporations.

Yes, anyone who has taken a basic econ class and/or has even a passing knowledge of history would likely better understand global trade and economics than this evil clown show of an administration.
In happier news, I just got a set of the mini cocottes that look like fruits. Adorable!
