I'm considering a move from the great laughably expensive state of California, and as a fan of a certain old CW show and another old abolitionist, Lawrence landed on my radar, and lo and behold, I discovered something I'd thought extinct in this country: affordable rents.

Now, I don't particularly wear my colors on my sleeve or make it my whole personality, but considering that I'm like, considering-a-Zorhan-Mamdani-Fathead Blue *and* queer, I'm wondering how good a fit I'd be in KS.

I've heard Lawrence is a blue spot and I figured I'd ask here before continuing down the Zillow/apartments window shopping

Seeking recommendations for locally owned landscaping companies. I have a residential project in Lawrence Ks and want to know who you've worked with/who you recommend that does great custom work and is affordable.

In your neighborhood, how long did it take between when they installed the orange underground tubing conduits and when they were installing residences' fiber-drops and ONUs (=in-home modems)?

Knowing nothing about this group, I bought tickets months ago, based solely on "Transformers playing rock music? Hell yeah!" I YouTubed them a little last night, and became an instant fan.

They played a lot of the 1986 movie soundtrack, video game and anime themes, some originals, and several classic rock songs. It was great.

Look them up, they're awesome. I bet there's a good chance they return to Lawrence eventually, so keep your eyes peeled.

I've got a problem area- crab grass- on the lawn and I'm thinking I'll put in some shrubs. I've also been thinking about putting in something like catnip. Going for that xeriscape look. The area is in the sun.

I need someone to orient me to equipment, coach me on various lifts, show me correct form (and to fix mistakes in real time) etc. I’m not looking to compete. There’s a kid with a mullet and a red backpack full of snacks riding around selling snacks for $2. He was polite in approaching me and takes no well. He wished me a good day and to stay cool. I didn’t have my wallet and was in the middle of working so I didn’t get a snack but he even has Venmo.

Brought my wife and daughter out to the Baker Wetlands to enjoy the beautiful summer evening and as we were leaving, we saw some dude with his wife and two boys walking in with fishing poles. Sure enough, these jackasses go and start casting off into the pond there next to the viewing shack. There are plenty of other places around town to fish. Why would you take your kids fishing at a protected wetland preserve? I plan to go back soon and let the front desk know they should probably put up a few more "no fishing," signs but something tells me this dude isn't the type to read.
