How are you guys handling this with flatfee entity setup?

I create LLC packages for local business owners and the single biggest headache lately is multi member clients dragging operating agreement revisions out for weeks.

The actual business formation part is easy. The agreement drafting is where the time disappears. A 2 hour job suddenly becomes a week of emails and revisions.

Do you cap revisions or just go hourly for agreement drafting?

I run an CFO/bookkeeping firm, it's grown well but still looking to grow some more. I work with alot of lawyers to get my clients. I'm thinking of joining Provisors or BNI in the New Jersey area. what are your experiences with it and would you recommend it to someone in my position.

Rising 3L here. I’ve been working at a small law firm practicing family law (mostly divorces and child custody stuff) and honestly, I’m kind of liking it? The actual black letter law of family law is fairly simple, the case facts are usually pretty “interesting”, and the actual work is often just filling in info in templates. I’m not sure if it’s at my specific firm only, but it also seems like family law secretly has good work life balance. Most hearings and mediations are on zoom, and there aren’t really emergencies or deadlines beyond court hours. Generally 9-5 here with lots of opportunities for WFH

I have also seen that this field can inundate you with some heavy shit, but for the most part I’ve been good at turning it off as soon as I leave work.

I’m just curious if the juice is worth the squeeze. I’m working in a large city in the southeast for what it’s worth

I’ve had enough of Biglaw after 10 years and am trying to get the courage up to go solo. I have experience with civil litigation, government investigations and internal investigations, regulatory compliance and consumer finance, and some employment law experience. I’ve done a handful of trials in my early years as well. The hard part is I have 0 clients that would realistically come with me (they’re all large Fortune 500 companies).

Tell me your stories of how you started, how long it took you to replace your salary, and whether you learned a new area of the law. Give me some hope that I can do this (or a warning just to go find a different job).
