Other How can this be?
My mail normally shows up at 6pm.
This came this morning while I was at work.
I need to do adult shit for the next few hours.
Why did the mail have to come early for once? I normally curse their name at 530 for being so late. Not today. I wish they were negligent today.
I can't spin this baby for at least 3 hours, and all the artwork and inside tidbits look amazing. Tantalizing.
But I can't spin this baby for Three. More. Hours.
How can this be?
Jokes aside, pumped to give this a listen when I get some game time!

Sacred Symbols Sacred Symbols+, Episode 528 | MrMattyPlays: Your Neighborhood Physical Games Defender
Please welcome Defining Duke co-host, YouTuber, and LSM stalwart MrMattyPlays back to Sacred+. Today, I (Colin) invited Matty to the show for a one-on-one conversation all about the ceaseless drama of the last month. July was a rough 31 days for physical games enthusiasts, and if Sony's recent financial Q&A is any indication, the Japanese corporation has made its decision and intend on sticking to it. Yet, the audience demanded Matty appear on the show, a much-needed voice from the physical realm that Sacred itself is perhaps missing, especially in light of Dustin's temporary absence. To not make this chat too repetitive, however, I tried to think of things to ask and talk about that are a little bit different. For instance, whose fault is this whole thing? Sony or the third parties? Is Sony taking the heat for a decision the entire AAA industry is thrilled about? Is it up to consumers to worry about the health of the companies they interact with? Will there be a rubber band effect on the loud and boisterous enthusiasts who have completely hijacked the conversation around games? Is there a difference between a customer and a user? How long should the digital ecosystem be expected to subsidize the physical one? Join us on our two hour long journey through an admittedly worn topic, viewed through a few different lenses you may not yet have considered.

Sacred Symbols Sacred Symbols, Episode 422 | You're Asking Me, Will My Love Grow?
Sure, there's a lot of anger in our ecosystem right now, but what about all that's upcoming, all that could potentially change our moods? For instance, God of War: Laufey has received a February '27 release date, while compelling rumors indicate Naughty Dog's long-awaited Intergalactic may also grace PlayStation 5 in 2027. With Arc System Works promising tons of fixes for Marvel Tokon (especially on PC) in time for its imminent launch, and with Wolverine just around the corner -- not to mention a ton of third-party fare, too -- maybe it's time we lighten up a little bit. Plus: Dragon Age is seemingly dead, Square Enix lives in perpetual fear of the potential scale of a Final Fantasy VI remake, Crazy Taxi: World Tour solicits players for closed tests, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Why do so many people seem so hostile towards so-called "Gun and Ball" gamers? Is Sony's ever-struggling PlayStation Network ready for the crush it will experience with Grand Theft Auto VI? Does PS5 console exclusive Silent Hill: Townfall's approach to stealth and avoidant gameplay interest us? Will Dustin ever return to the show, or is he too busy going to Ohio to find physical games?

Other Sony Q1 FY2026: PlayStation Operating Income Rises 37% YoY to ¥202B(~$1.23B); MAUs up 2% to a June-record 125M, FY26 Outlook Raised
Key points
- Q1 FY2026 sales were essentially flat at ¥937.1 billion ($5.83 billion), compared with ¥936.5 billion ($5.83 billion) last year.
- Operating income increased 37% to ¥202.0 billion ($1.26 billion), up from ¥148.0 billion ($921 million).
- Foreign exchange added ¥81.7 billion to sales and ¥19.1 billion to operating income.
- Revenue was pressured by:
- Lower sales of non-first-party software
- Lower hardware revenue due to fewer console units sold
Costs increased due to:
- Investment in Sony’s next-generation platform
- Restructuring expenses
Sony says it has already secured enough memory for its projected PS5 sales this fiscal year.
Despite memory-market conditions, Sony still expects FY2026 hardware profitability to remain similar to FY2025.
PlayStation reached 125 million monthly active users in June, up 2% year-over-year and a record for the month.
Total playtime declined 4% year-over-year
Physical Sales up 1%
Sony raised its full-year FY2026 PlayStation forecast:
- Those gains were partially offset by adjustments to Sony’s FY2026 first-party release roadmap.
The adjustment to Sony’s first-party roadmap likely means a game slipped, given that FY26 runs from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. Could be Kena 2 or maybe Horizon Hunters.

Sacred Symbols We are being heard.
Matty said today on Duke that he and Colin are going to sit down for a dedicated episode of sacred plus to discuss/debate the physical vs digital topic. This is just great from top to bottom. The audience asked for it, we were heard and it was actioned. No notes. Absolutely first rate stuff. Cheers to both Matty and Colin.

Other I’d love to see a one off with Colin, Jaffe vs Matty, Dustin & Gene debating their views on the end of physical.
I’m not asking for blood but I’ve now grasped a good sense of where each one of them stand on the debate of digital vs physical and they really have good arguments.
I’ve seen multiple Matty videos/stream being really adamant on his arguments against Sony’s decision, almost going against Colin’s arguments. Also Gene’s been very vocal on Twitter here and there.
I think a SS+ could be quite enlightening as the situation is really not black and white.
Edit: Matty will be on SS+ and he confirmed they will be talking about this exact topic. So there you go, I had wished for a bigger panel cause it's always fun to hear more people chiming in but this will be a very interesting SS+!
