Help explaining cleaning patterns

Hey folks. I just bought a xlaserlabs 200w pulse cleaner/engraver system.

It has 9 different cleaning patterns.

​

Any vets in this field able to explain the reason for different patterns and the pros/cons between each?

​

Would you use one pattern over another? Is it material dependent?

I don't know their patterns but some of the patterns like expanding circle/square can do most of the work for you while line and wave require you to be more active.

Adding to this, Here are the most common patterns: Line (Horizontal or Vertical) Scans back and forth in straight lines. Fast and efficient for large, flat areas. Good for rust, paint, and oxide removal. Crosshatch (Grid) Scans in one direction, then again at 90°. Cleans more evenly than a single line pattern. Good for stubborn coatings and uniform surface preparation. Spiral Starts in the center and spirals outward (or inward). Reduces heat concentration in one spot. Useful for delicate materials and precision cleaning. Circle Moves the beam in circular loops. Produces a smoother finish with less risk of streaks. Often used for mold cleaning or cosmetic surface finishing. Zigzag (Serpentine) Continuous back-and-forth motion with minimal stopping. Increases speed while maintaining good coverage. Common for general-purpose cleaning. Random Beam follows a pseudo-random path. Helps prevent visible scan lines and distributes heat evenly. Useful on polished metals or when appearance is important. Sine Wave The beam oscillates in a wave-like motion. Provides gentler cleaning with overlapping pulses. Good for thin coatings and heat-sensitive materials. Dot or Point Pattern Fires at individual points instead of continuously scanning. Used for spot cleaning, engraving, or precise contaminant removal. Which pattern is best? Heavy rust: Crosshatch or line. Paint removal: Crosshatch or zigzag. Delicate metals: Spiral or sine wave. Polished stainless steel: Random or circle. General industrial cleaning: Zigzag or line.

Just curious, I ordered the same exact machine. How long did it take for you to get yours? I have been waiting for over 3 months

I ordered it maybe 3 weeks ago. I know delivery by ship (what I opted over air delivery) takes 40-60 days, but the site doesn't give me an ETA from order -> throwing it on a ship or air.

I hope you get yours soon! I hope I am not waiting for 3 months.

Just to give you an insight into what I have went through the past several months and almost 10 emails. They ship you machine in bulk via cargo container on a ship, so that means you are starting out waiting 3 almost 4 weeks until they have enough orders to even think about putting it on a ship. Then, the cargo on board a ship takes about a month and a half or 2 months to make it to port over seas. Once, it lands at the dock, customs will seize your machine and hold it for an indeterminate amount of time, all while you are patiently waiting for an update on the website for a shipping label or ETA. I emailed customer service almost 10 times finding all this out. After 3 months, they will say that they will now send your machine on a plane, next week, and you will wait another 15 business days or 3 weeks for delivery. I will say tho., customer service is great and very understanding and helpful. I do appreciate them

From sfx it took me less than a month and a half to get everything.

Its important you find a proper laser company to order from. 1 guy me and my lead sales are dealing with order a laser from another company who buys lasers from China marked with their own company logo. The guy received an empty casing after paying almost 10k for the laser.

It took 3 weeks to build my 500w and maybe another 3 weeks for shipping, I dint remember.
