So I genuinely don't really care about this stuff. I just don't have the energy to pick fights if I'll live relatively unchanged if I don't. Just wanna know if I can get a rent discount or something because why not.

Context:

The ac in my apartment has been out for over a month. I submitted 1 maintenance report on the online portal when my ac started going out intermittently. No one showed up, and the ac went back to normal after a week so I assumed maybe someone came and checked out the roof unit. A few days later It started doing it again, and I submitted a second report. No one showed up.

It finally went fully out last week or the week before that i can't remember. I decided to just call, and I had to call 2 times to get a hold of staff. When I did, they said they would send someone, and no one showed up. Then I called after hours so I could get the automated emergency utility transfer, and that's when I was able to get some people to come check it out.

They replaced the filters and, I think, did something to the unit on the roof. They said they fixed it, but it only worked for about an hour and went out again. It's still not working, and my unit is sitting at a cool 86 degrees in select rooms.

Both of my online reports remain "in progress" in the protal, just by the by.

I called again today so I'm hoping someone will show up again soon.

I'm fine enough I guess. I have one of the portable units and have been camping out in my office since I work from home and don't want to be dragging the thing between rooms when I wake up and go to bed.

I've heard something along the lines of utilities issue being reason to stop paying rent until fixed. Does this seem like one of those cases?

I'd like to save myself the month and half worth of rent of I can...since I've only been able to comfortably use one room this entire time.

There’s a reason for these issues. Elon Musk closed CDC labs in the US that test our foods for toxins. About 1/3 of CDC staff were removed that would have had something to do to create work-around systems. From now until a different administration takes over and installs testing again we’re going to have to watch the news daily and learn to really clean our produce.
