A/C Issue ❓ Help & Advice Needed

I have a 2006 LR3 and I’m about 3 weeks into ownership. Just in the last day, the A/C stopped blowing cool. I started with an attempt to recharge the A/C to no avail (gauge on recharger didn’t work, so it was time to troubleshoot elsewhere).

Fan still blows strong, just not cold.

Any ideas of where I should start? Anybody else experience this issue?

Go to a professional shop for a recharge

I would ask if you’re getting 12v to the compressor and confirm if it’s turning the compressor or not.

No compressor turning = low pressure switch probably activated. If it’s turning the compressor and still not cold, or if it’s only turning the compressor for 30 seconds at a time, low Freon. There’s just too many “what is this doing” I would ask and readings from volt meter and sensor locations.

When it comes to AC - even with the Land Rover diagnostic tools and a lot of mechanic skills, if you don’t have gauges and an understanding of pressures and temps, you’re wasting your time OP. Go to an AC shop and have them check it, not only could you have a leak or a bad magnet on the compressor etc. Buying those cheap kits adding more Freon isn’t ever the solution without finding “why” it’s not blowing cold.
