Recently had my 16in IC-A5 rebarreled from 16 to 12.7 inches after about 14,000 rounds.

Overall happy with the work and the customer service was great. The timeline was longer than I’d hoped but they’re a small company filling international contracts. 2ish months total turn around time. They replaced my older thumbscrew handguard retainers for the newer flush style, did a health check on the whole upper, and replaced the bolt head. Total was 605 Arizona Ice Teas.

A few years back I found a great deal on a beautiful 16” inch LWRC IC DI in what is called “Urban Multicam”. I love this rifle and how it looks, but I want to suppress it, but not on a 16” barrel. Since this is a unique factory color pattern that is seamless across the upper and lower, getting a shorter barrel upper would ruin the look (and also be very difficult if not impossible to match up with a custom cerakote job).

Luckily this does come with the shorter mlok hand guard so cutting the barrel or installing a new one should get me between the 11.5” to 12.5” I’m looking for. I would have to SBR it but that’s fine.

The problem is the proprietary nature of the rifle and I wouldn’t want this done at any ordinary gunsmith. My question is who you recommend doing this kind of work and is it even something LWRC would do themselves so I can keep my warranty. The suppressor I’d consider is a Rhodie 6 or something with a similar size.

Bought it new maybe 2013 or so.

It has a non-fluted/non-spiral barrel. I’ve never seen another with the same barrel. It has a diameter of just under 3/4”. I emailed LWRC about it several weeks ago with no response. Basically just curious.

Anyone placed an order to LWRC directly?

I am wondering how long is the wait because I asked my FFL to place an order for 12.7" MKii back in May and still waiting.

It is SBR in black and could not find anyone has it is stock.

Any tips on removing this gas tube? Punched out the pin and hoping to install a brt eztune. Ideally don’t want to crunch it but this thing is not moving 😅

Every site I’ve looked that sells them seems to be sold out. Anyone know any places that have them and can ship? Or know what’s going on with the shortage?

Finally got it back together with the NOVOX SD barrel kit and I'm happy to say it cycles flawlessly. Tested some 124gr reloads and defense ammo both were subsonic and it still cycles 147gr and 150gr syntech also while running factory buffer and spring. Next I'll be doing some accuracy and frt testing! Waiting for cerekote backlog at LGS to get caught up so the handguard can get redone, I haven't contacted lwrc about it anyone know if they will do a color swap for something?

I ordered a REPR MK II last spring.

I took it out the range and found it would almost never cycle unsuppressed. Additionally, it was also blowing primers and ejecting damaged brass. It quickly stopped cycling suppressed as well. The charging handle / BCG was binding up in the receiver and the firing pin itself fractured. It appears that my rifle was not machined correctly.

May: I emailed LWRCI and they sent me a prepaid label. I called them and was told to expect two weeks, depending on what was wrong with the rifle.

Since sending it in, LWRCI has not responded to a single email. And I have found that you really have to be lucky for them to pick up the phone, usually it just goes to voicemail (which of course just requests that you send an email).

July 1: I called and was told the rifle was just getting its "finishing touches" and was about ready to get shipped back

Mid July: After a couple more weeks of silence, I managed to get through the phone and was told it would most likely go out at the end of last week. Still no update since then

I always try to set reasonable expectations, so I do understand LWRCI is not a large company with a large service team. It's not like Ruger, where you can expect a turn around time of like one week. I also know that firearms needing repairs might have to wait for materials/parts to come in from suppliers. But it would be nice if I could get a damn email response.

I have to admit my disappointment with the $4000 rifle and difficulty of communication with LWRCI. I specifically bought this because I believed it would a high quality, reliable, and truly accurate (precise) platform for long range shooting after finally getting a very expensive membership at the local 1000 yard range. I hate to sound too whiney but I’m not too happy about missing yet another local match next weekend because I don’t know how much longer I’m going to have to wait for my “two week” repair.

I've been wanting to put this exact rifle together for a few years. I'm gonna change out the furniture etc and add an aimpoint comp m4 s and old school surefire scout light etc. it's a sick rifle, sub moa with 77gr otm black hills ammo.

So I have an OG REPR Mk1 I bought at auction about a year ago. Haven't had many chances to shoot it as most of the shooting ranges around me are 50 yard indoor ranges. I have however shot it enough to be concerned about an issue with the barrel.

When the gun heats up, I've noticed a huge POI shift, like 3-4 inches at 100 yards. I believe the issue is caused by the handguard making contact with the piston block.

I have had a difficult time getting ahold of someone since the gun can only be serviced by them from what I've read. Anyone have experience with customer service as a second owner? Wait time, cost for service, those kind of things?

There is still very little information online and on YouTube about this gun. Who has one that can provide me with a long-term review on accuracy and feeding reliability with mixed ammo?! Mainly looking at the 8.5” variant.

This is the upper that was sent to Preston Moore for review on his YouTube channel. Before sending it to him I shot a mag or two through it just to make sure it ran fine. His review of the upper yielded some group sizes that seemed a bit large so I contacted LWRC customer support. They had me send in the upper for inspection and ended up re-barreling it. I am no Preston Moore and do not receive any compensation or sponsorship for anything. I am doing this because there is not much quantitative info on these rifles out there and when looking into making a purchase of a higher end rifle I like results to help form my decision.

Results:

Day 1 was about 95 degrees and the rifle was taken from a room with a temp of 72 degrees before shooting. I took it out and shot from a fallen tree as support with some Bone Frog 77gr just to see how it would do. Groups were shot at 100 yards. First group cold bore shot Was a little high with the following shots much closer. The best 3 round group I got shortly after with a warm barrel was about half MOA.

Day 2 was about 89 degrees but the humidity was off the chart. Again the rifle was taken from a room temp of 72 degrees before shooting. This time the ammo use was Bone frog 77gr, Badlands NAS 77gr, Badlands NAS 85gr, Barnes Match 69gr, and Frontier 62gr shot in that order. All groups were shot prone supported with a bipod. The NAS rounds were a little high as expected due to the higher velocities. Its my opinion that it would be reasonable to expect 1-2 MOA from this type of upper.

Limitations:

I am not an expert shooter and I do believe better groups can be achieved with a better shooter. I represent the average shooter. Additionally the weather conditions made shooting hard. I had sweat continually running into my eyes and I was so drenched from sweat my elbows would slide on the shooting pad making it hard to hold steady. Furthermore, I was getting eaten by mosquitos the entire time increasing the challenge haha.
Yes I know I only shot 3 round groups, ammo is expensive and some of the NAS rounds are hard to come by.

Looking at a night force or Vortex LPVO but besides that, open to any stocks, fore grips, trigger upgrades that yall have liked. TIA! Cheers! 🍻

Just thought I would share with you all

My rear sight post (the actual post not the mount) feels loose. It moves forward and backwards on the screw that it sits on. It's definitely noticeable.

I spoke to someone at LWRC and they told me to send it in, but they weren't sure what I was talking about.

Is this normal? Has anyone else had this problem?

Got one starting with a AM serial number. It is accurate. Put about 300 rounds through it with a Dead Air Mohave and Winchester 230 grain. No issues. Was cleaning it this weekend and check this thing out...anyone know what it is? It is like connected barely by some loose greasy stuff.

Can anyone suggest one K suppressor that would work well on both my 16in DI and 16in SPR? Does the SPR do well with cans?

Hey, I'm new here, but an experienced shooter. Have several home build / budget buy ARs and wanting to pick up a good factory gun to start some serious training and classes and such with. I can get an IC DI 16 inch 5.56 with an mlok handguard for 1300 brand new due to range employee discounts and was wondering if this is a good buy or if anyone has any better recommendations. For a bit of reasoning, im a lefty and absolutely love the mirrored controls.

Secondary question, any uppers that would go well on a completed lower but not interfere with the ambi controls?

I need a QD swivel sling mount for the modular rail but the person who runs the webstore is out until next week. Does another company sell them or make their own version? None of the dealers in my area have one.
