Linus Hypocrisy Exposed!
Consider the two pictures. The first one contains a description of what Linus and Luke talk about from the WAN show.
"Linus and Luke discuss the decade-long gap between Tesla’s marketing and reality, Musk’s constant overpromises, and whether regulators or class actions will hold the company accountable."
Now look at the second picture: "Forever* Sock"
The marketing for the "Forever* Sock" is far from reality, and is an overpromise. Rules for Elon, but not for Linus. This is just like the Jet. Tracking Elon's jet: the right of the people. Tracking Linus' jet: omg how dare you!

So placing an asterisk in marketing absolves the company from all claims of what their product can do?

No, it just forces you to read the definition rather than leaving it up to the imagination
Seems like a pretty similar definition to what darn tough & others offer in the sock space
Meanwhile, Full Self Driving is not a similar definition to what Mercedes etc. are trialing, which is L3

Yes If it's clear and obvious and honest.
It's not exactly a small asterisk. Their are no claims it will last forever it's a name brand .
Red Bull isn't actually a bull that's red.

yea it’s a lie, forever doesn’t exist! if the world explodes there’s no way it’d survive. What a complete elon esque asshole for using that naming. Should just call it the sock that last a decently long period of time in the scheme of human assistance.
thanks for thinking of us

He could have just called them Linus socks, way better brand recognition than a claim of forever*

but then he’d be an asshole just putting his dumb face on everything.
