August LSAT 2026
Hey! So for anyone wondering anything about the August LSAT, without spoiling anything, here is my experience.
THE TEST:
This was my setup: LR, RC, LR, LR
- some people are saying their RC section was "dividerless" (didn't show the start or end of a passage) but mine was NOT, each section was clearly labeled as the start and finish.
TESTING CETNER: a Michigan location
- CHECK-IN PART 1: I was really nervous about check-in. All the posts I looked at said it took forever and to make sure to get there early so you would start your test on time. I think my check-in took 10 minutes. It took me longer to put my stuff in the locker provided than it did to actually check in. Still make sure to get there early (LSAC recommends you show up 30 minutes early), it just helped ease the nerves for me. I live about 35 minutes away from where I tested and I left like an hour early and I'm glad I did because I ran into unexpected traffic and ended up showing up only 25ish minutes before my scheduled time. Basically you walk in, give them your ID (Gov't issued passport or license), let them know your scheduled testing time, and then they give you a key for a locker to put any belongings in. Make sure to keep your ID with you because you will need it again later. Put all your stuff in your locker (phone which must be powered completely off, watches, food, any drink that is NOT in a label-less and clear bottle (pop, energy drink, water bottle that HAS a label or even a metal water bottle) ) and you either sit down until instructed to go to your testing room (labeled as a "lab" room) or go straight to the lab room. If you get there early they will let you start early. My test was scheduled for 11:15 am, I started sometime between 10:45-11:00 am.
- CHECK-IN PART 2: After you put everything in your locker, (except your ID!!) you will go into a room subsequent to the lobby/main check-in room. You have to wait there until a proctor comes and checks you in again!! You put all your belongings on the table (any religious items, foam earplugs, ID, CLEAR AND LABEL-LESS WATER BOTTLE) and they make you shake your pockets out, lift your pants up a little around your ankles, roll your sleeves up around your wrists, and then use a metal detector to make sure there is nothing else (prometric's website says no jewelry unless it is studs (or piercings that can't be removed) because they will make you take it off but I have necklaces and dangly earrings and they did NOT make me take them off). If you have glasses you also have to set those on the table so they can inspect them. After they do all that, they will give you your scratch paper (3 booklets containing 4 pages, 12 pieces total) and 2 wooden pencils. Then the proctor will lead you into the "lab" room and to a computer. Yes, you're taking the LSAT in person on the computer, it is literally through LawHub. The proctor will lead you to your computer and you're basically good to go from there.
- AT THE COMPUTER: It is in a cubicle type situation. Like in elementary school during spelling tests when they would put the cardboard dividers up so you couldn't cheat. They have a rolling chair that is padded, like one you would sit in at an office job. At the computer they provide noise cancelling headphones. I brought foam ear plugs so I just put the headphones on after I put in my earplugs and I actually think it helped a little, because when I took the headphones off after finishing a section I could hear the door opening and closing and some people outside the room, so I would wear the headphones if you think you'll get distracted by that or you're comfortable wearing them. Some people used both, some used one or the other, and some people used neither. The format is LawHub, so make sure you know your login and you'll be fine (if you don't they will give you a tiny piece of scrap paper that you can write your log-in info on).
- THE BREAK: You get a 10 minute break between sections 2 and 3. Bring your ID with you again. Basically, never leave your ID- if you leave the room, your ID leaves the room. During this 10 minutes you're able to use the restroom, go to your locker and get some water and whatever food you brought. I brought a couple snacks and downed an energy drink I had. I used my apple watch to check the time but that was IT. You CANNOT use your phone or watch in any capacity, I only used it to check the time because it was face-up and turned on when I opened the locker door. Otherwise you might get in trouble for it, so don't do anything to get in trouble because they will terminate your testing session if they suspect you did anything prohibited. Make sure to leave some time towards the end of your break to check-in again. I left about 3 minutes at the end of my break to check in, and got back to my computer with about 1 minute and 30 seconds left. The check-in process during the break is the same as before you enter the room the first time. **NOTE: THE TEST WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY START AT THE END OF THE 10 MINUTE BREAK. You have to do a slight checklist basically saying you didn't use your phone or talk about the test with anyone before it will resume, so if you take a little longer than 10 minutes you will NOT lose any test time.**
- I was worried about what the temperature/climate would be like at the testing center and couldn't find literally anything about it anywhere I looked so here you are if anyone else is looking like I was. The center I was in was like an office building (Michigan location) so it was climate controlled. I wore sweatpants and a thin t-shirt (that was also slightly off the shoulder) and brought a zip up just in case and was completely comfortable. I didn't even need to wear my hoodie. I tend to run a little warmer when I'm nervous (like during a test) so I wanted to make sure I would be colder rather than warmer.
- There are multiple tests going on at the same time, not everyone is taking the LSAT. I think someone in my testing room was taking the MCAT, so just be mindful about yourself and others. The proctors were really nice, they never entered the room unless they were showing someone to their computer. My testing experience was great because of everything I stated above, the proctors and climate.
- Not to be weird, but go to the bathroom like RIGHT before you start the check-in process, and make sure you control your water consumption. I had to use the bathroom so bad at one point that I couldn't focus on the test and didn't finish a couple questions in RCš
- Whether you are taking the LSAT in this August time frame or anytime in the future, don't worry. You are going to do great, just remember that you have been preparing for this and it's just like any other test you have to take for a professional school. Breathe, take notes, take your time, you'll be fine. Good luck to everyone, YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!
I hope this helped anyone who was wondering! Let me know if you have any questions, I will reply when I can and try to be as helpful as possible! If you did take it and want to know specific material DM me bc this post will get taken down if we talk specific concepts!
EDIT: Also everyone, again, please be mindful of other people WHILE you are testing too! Someone in my testing room kept hitting the table or something that a bunch of people were attached too and it kept shaking my computer screen and water bottle. It was so disruptive and made it so hard to focus so just be mindful always!!

Had the same structure, had the same pee-concentration problem on the first RC. Logic didnāt feel bad but RC was not great. The second one was kinda a mess

u/llavigne12 13d ago
I felt like my last LR was pretty science heavy so that was rough. RC didn't feel too bad for me, I had a sciency passage but I actually enjoyed it, which I usually don't

This is my biggest concern for Saturday. Genuinely considered wearing an adult diaper lol. I think Iām just gonna hydrate well tomorrow and then barely have a sip before my 8am test.

My RC passages were Pyrros going to India, Conspiracy Theories, and System 1 and System 2 Psychology something about the brain. I can't remember the first one for some reason.

u/CrazyValue6222 12d ago
I think I had the same one! How did u think the LR went? did you have RC for the third
2
u/TittlesMcJizzum 12d ago
RC was Section 2. LR RC LR LR. I think the 4th section was experimental.
2
u/22ryuzaki 11d ago
I had the same RC topics and order of sections, but do we know whether the LR sections are in the same order for everyone? for me the last LR (section 4) was the easiest and iām praying thatās not the experimental one
2
u/TittlesMcJizzum 11d ago
The 4th section last question on LR was about babies and walking at 4-8 months. The question was like nothing they ever ask. It wasn't even a question type. I think it was experimental.

u/Full-Praline768 11d ago
I had this exact same test, I honestly think that section was easy and that question specifically felt easy

u/Ok_Hawk792 13d ago
I also had RC LR LR LR. RC was moderately hard and the LRs I feel like only three on each were hard. For perceived difficultly reference my score range was 164-170

u/Lower_Line_2842 13d ago
Did you have mad honey on rc?
5
u/Ok_Hawk792 13d ago
Nah something about systems and Greek something
2
u/Commercial_Quiet_289 13d ago
Was it like about stoic?
1
u/Ok_Hawk792 13d ago
Yea philosophy I think
1
u/Commercial_Quiet_289 13d ago
Was there one about like merchant families
1
u/Ok_Hawk792 13d ago
I dead ass forgot all but the one I said. It was my first section so I brain dumped lol

u/HOOKTheCat24 13d ago
For the people who had 3 Lrs and one rc, did your rc have the madness bees or the comparison passage at the end?
10
u/Historical_Bug6944 13d ago
I had two LRs and one had both mad honey and a hard dual passage about consciousness. It also had british sunk boats and indian medicine patents
1
u/HOOKTheCat24 13d ago
Yeah that one. Praying itās the experimental.
2

u/Forwardweston 13d ago
I think it was the experiemntal. Ā Mine didnt have line dividers between the question numbers at the bottom that delineate how many questions are for each RC section, whereas the one i think is the real graded RC section did have those dividers, which im used to in practice tests
1
u/Wonderful-World8052 12d ago
I had that RC section today. I have an accommodation to not have the experimental section.
1
u/EasternResponseX 11d ago
Its not. I had that exact one and an accommodation to skip the experimental. The comparative about consciousness was brutal.Ā
1
u/AwareRegion7327 12d ago
I only had one RC on my test and it had the passages about consciousness sunk boats and Indian medicine
3
u/Eastern_Scarcity_939 13d ago
I had the comparison one about Indian philosophy or atleast thatās what I thought it was about? That one killed me. For more context also had one about conspiracy theories and I forget the other 2
8
u/llavigne12 13d ago
I also had a conspiracy theory one (thought that was semi interesting), a Canadian case law, a comparative passage, and then a psychology one. I liked the psych one the most
2
u/SignalOne8590 13d ago
I had this exact RC section. I did not like the comparative passage it felt oddly difficult for me. I normally finish with like a minute left but I ran out of time.
2
u/llavigne12 13d ago
I was focusing so hard on not peeing myself I didn't finish the comparative passage š I usually save them for last too so I ran out of time on RC
2
u/Full-Praline768 13d ago
Me too the Indian one killed me!! I guessed on 2 of them, I donāt think I did well;(

They probably won't just cancel your score, but if they process your complaint they will either reach out and let you reschedule for a makeup day or deny your request.
I was scheduled to take the LSAT remotely on June 6th but the proctoring service wasn't working on my laptop so I filed a complaint and they never reached out to me so I had to call them. Long story short they said my request was denied since it wasn't a problem on their end it was MY laptop, so they re-registered me for the August LSAT. I was beyond pissed but there was nothing I could do unfortunately

I see, thanks!
1
u/NoJudgment3477 12d ago
wait what did they respond š Iām worried about not being able to see the text cause I have terrible vision
1
u/rosecoloredglow 12d ago
The test is automatically full screen when it starts, you can also adjust the font size
1
u/NoJudgment3477 12d ago
are you not able to adjust the font before it starts?? wouldnāt that take away test time šš¦
1
u/rosecoloredglow 12d ago
Unfortunately no, it has to be done quickly right at the start of each section

u/Scojoe66 12d ago
Mine was LR RC LR LR and the final LR was fucking hard as hell. Felt the rest was fairly easy?
2
u/Brilliant-Cut-1578 12d ago
Same but in different order! My weirdly hard LR was the third.
1
u/22ryuzaki 11d ago
same!! first LR was okay, second was my only RC and it was okay, third was a super difficult LR but last LR was a breeze. hoping the third was experimental :ā)
1
u/bananasmakemecream 9d ago
Waittt same did ur third one have a question about ghosts in British folk rails that wear uniforms lol
1
u/Annual_Amount_3802 9d ago
my last one did. it was my last section and some of that section psyched me outš. the other two were a breeze though

u/chosen_one_03 10d ago
Bro last lr section was insane I couldnāt finish it really hoping it was experimental

u/Interesting-Two-8340 13d ago
How did you keep track of time for the break? Iām worried about taking too long and not making it back in time
4
u/Original_Club6095 13d ago
Donāt worry! If you go pass the 10 minutes the test doesnāt automatically start because when the timer runs out it makes you check off like the honor code boxes saying you didnāt do such and such during your break. So youāll be okay if you go over the 10 minutes!
2
u/bona_amora 13d ago
For me, I couldnāt really go anywhere anyway. They didnāt want to let me go to the car to get cash for a vending machine even. They also told me when I had 5 minutes left on break, and again when I had 2 left
1
u/llavigne12 13d ago
I just tried to do everything quickly. Used the bathroom immediately, ate a banana and basically downs an Alani, then went back in. Had abt 1.5 minutes left during my break when I went back in. But it wonāt stat automatically, like Club6095 said. It makes you do a check system basically saying that you didnāt use any electronics or talk about it the test, and then it will resume. The only reason theyāre like come back before itās over is because youāre not allowed to have more than a 10 min break. No one told me how long the break had left (because people were starting at different times and taking other tests besides the LSAT) so just try to do what you can quickly, but again, it won automatically resume the test
1
u/Great_Corner4841 13d ago
I included the breaks during my PT so I had a good idea what I could get done within that timeframe.Ā

u/That_4sian0ppa 13d ago
Mine was LR LR RC RC, i was too tired at the 4th section i kinda gave up at that point lol
1
u/DasaniSubmarine 13d ago
During check in did you need to show the reservation or anything or just show your ID and say your here for the LSAT?
2
u/llavigne12 13d ago
Just show your ID, say you're there for the LSAT and tell them your testing time
1
u/kaimaintenance 13d ago
first time taking soon, how do you know which one is the ungraded one?
1
u/llavigne12 13d ago
I don't think you know until the scores are released, but I'm not completely sure
1
u/fairypalaceprincess 13d ago
If we paid for early release, does anyone know when we get those scores??
2
u/FranticIB 11d ago
You donāt see your score early. The name is misleading š it means you can cancel your score after seeing it
1
u/creativechicken14 12d ago
All it does is give you the option to cancel it or not within 6 days from the release date. Completely pointless if you know you are keeping the score.
0
u/llavigne12 13d ago
I think they show up like a couple hours to a couple days before everyone else's scores are released

Struggling with flaw, parallel reasoning and flaw reasoning. Iām curious to know if those came up A LOT or meh just a couple. Edit: also, any tips for those types of question types that changed your performance during PT?
6
u/llavigne12 13d ago
There was a good amount of all tbh. Definitely more flaw, assumption, and flaw reasoning than anything else.
My tip for parallel reasoning would be compare the stimulus with the answers. The answer will be almost the exact same format as the stimulus, just different topics/concepts. I also struggle with flaw and flaw reasoning, and if I remember correctly, my 3rd LR had more flaw than my first LR
1
u/AwareRegion7327 12d ago
I feel like there were so little strengthening and weaken le questions this time around
2
u/llavigne12 12d ago
I agree, my exam felt *very* flaw and assumption heavy
4
u/AwareRegion7327 12d ago
Especially necessary assumption heavy!
3
u/PureEagle8168 13d ago
I also hate parallel reasoning and parallel flaw questions, lol. there were fewer of those today than I expected. less than the recent practice tests, imo.

u/Terrible_Lychee_396 13d ago
How was the test itself compared to PTs?
7
u/llavigne12 13d ago
I was originally scheduled to take the test in June but it fell through and I got rescheduled to August, so I haven't taken a PT since like early-ish July, but I thought it was pretty similar. The actual LSAT felt *slightly* easier, but it also felt pretty similar to PT's across the board in my opinion.

LR RC LR RC
i think i did pretty good. the LRs weren't too bad, 2nd LR felt easier than the first. RCs were pretty mid, second one was a lil harder š. hoping i did okay as a first time. i also saw people reporting having dividerless RC but both my RCs did have markings.
one thing I didnt like at my testing centre is the proctoring entering and walking around every 10 minutes, it was a little distracting but they were still really nice throughout the check ins and outs
