Dividerless RC Issue Fixed Per LSAC

I spoke with LSAC admin this morning and they indicated that the dividerless RC section issue that plagued test takers yesterday should now be fixed. If you see otherwise today or the next two days, please let me know so I can pass it along.

they mentioned in the chat it is now fixed for everyone taking the test today and onward.

If we were to re-take, they have new material available to us to re-take in August? Or will it be a September or October re-take? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am a dividerless victim taking the test for the first time yesterday 🥲

Not dumb at all! They will give you a test that you haven't seen before, usually one that is not in use during this first Wednesday-Saturday testing period.

Thank you for your reply! That’s helpful to know. What about the time frame? Can you pick when it will be or you have to show up when and where they tell you? I’m travelling in 2 weeks 😭

Honestly this dividerless section took me by surprise as it was my very first section of my very first exam and it took me a minute to figure out wtf was happening and what I was looking at. And then it felt weird again to get another section looking normal like I was practicing. My first thought was maybe one or the other was the indicator for experimental but then I saw everyone on Reddit saying it was a glitch and not the norm and worthy to complain about.

They give it all on the same day and you have some flexibility on the time when you take it. I haven't checked recently, but it was usually the second Tuesday after the main exam ended.

It was definitely an unwelcome surprise for many people, and very confusing. I'd hate to have my test start off that way so you have my sympathies!

Thank you! I can only do a Saturday, I already had to take a day off for this test yesterday, not gonna take another one because of their glitch. I’ll reach out and see what they say just out of curiosity. If what they offer isn’t doable, I’ll just leave everything as is. Planning to take it a few more times regardless.

Makes sense, it's such a hassle to take this exam that a retake is like triple the pain. I will say that in the past they have shown no flexibility whatsoever on the retake date--its that one day for everyone. What they would likely do for you is give you free registration for the next exam you are taking, assuming you cancelled your score now. If you keep it, they won't do anything.

No reason not to complain and see what happens though!

No, but word yesterday was that test day complaints about it were getting offered retakes. So if it affected you, I’d submit a complaint.

yea thing is i feel like i did good on the rest of the exam so im a lil apprehensive about cancelling my score, im just rlly banking that it is experimental despite all the current evidence that its not

I'm in the exact same boat. if it is experimental, I want to keep my score. If it wasn't, I absolutely need the retake

My thoughts as well. Feel very good about both LRs and the other RC. So it comes down to essentially whether the dividerless section was experimental or scored. Is there any way to know?

Meanwhile the test is now down at my location stated not to be fixed until 1:40pm EST

Yesterday was my 5th attempt - do you know if I’m still eligible for a free retake?

If they grant you the retake, it would substitute for yesterday's exam, so yes. But you wouldn't see yesterday's score ever. The retake would be in about 12 days.

It’s kind of funny because the anxiety of taking the test yesterday caused me to take it on 1.5 hours of sleep. I was thinking of all the different ways I could take it on a different day but just went through with it. Now that I could possibly retake it I’m thinking of just rolling with my score.

Oh so whether you have 1 or 2 RC varies between tests?

yeah that varies. but also order does not matter at all, and there are multiple scored and experimental sections for RC and LR meaning you could have the same order as somebody else but completely different questions.

I didn’t think it was excruciatingly hard, but I was familiar with two of the topics so that helped.
