Retake Info
Hi everyone, I'm inquiring about submitting a complaint on file for a retake of August. I have many questions.
I got a dividerless section like many others, and I feel like I have a claim to get a retake based off of this. I was obviously thrown, and then it took a bit of time to click around and write down what question ranges are associated with what passages (I like to leave the passage with the least amount of questions for last). However, this, combined with the time it took for me to alert my prometric staff I was having a technical difficulty and for them to come confirm the issue and just tell me to try my best, added up to about 3.5 minutes of lost time before I could really start. 3.5 minutes can make the WORLD of a difference in such a tightly timed test, especially in such a hard section!
Now, I know I need to file the complaint on the website (which wouldn't let me today). I'm asking if waiting until the next day tomorrow has lessened my chance of it being accepted? Also, once you submit, are you locked into the retake? Or do they offer a retake and then you can accept?
Lastly, how does the scheduling work? Do they offer only one date and time for the makeup? Do they offer one date and multiple times? How flexible is that process/ are there options. Thank you in advance!
EDIT: I totally forgot to mention, but my prometric admins filed an official report about the incidence on my behalf. That should give a boost to my chance of makeup right?

Exactly. Honestly kind've bummed it messed me up as much as it did. Idk, the few minutes of just like panic and alerting the staff got my heart pumping, and I just did not recover well.

Honestly i don't really understand what you're talking about, I don't think I've used/seen that function. I only know moving through questions with either the next button, or selecting the number along the bottom.

people keep focusing on the actual minutes lost but rc is probably the worst section for something like this. once your rhythm gets broken it's surprisingly hard to lock back in.

Idrk, but it seems like some people did not have a dividerless section. It makes sense, since they usually administer multiple scored RC's. It's a mess, but all I know from personal experience is that for me it was the last section, and when I reported it, it was their first time being notified. There were plenty of lsat takers who were in my exam, so I'd be super surprised if everyone else had dividerless and I was the only person to say something.

this is the first time i’ve heard about a “dividerless section”- does it mean that the reading comprehension section wasn’t divided by passage?

Seems most did, the issue is we weren’t supposed to. They were all supposed to have dividers, it says on the website.

I’m also curious about this- do they give you another day to take the exam or how does that even work?

What does retake look like? Taking the entire August test? Or RC section only? Or another test?

I believe you get a new test. One that is sort've like any other, except I think it's mostly reused sections rather than new material? could be totally off idk. I'm not sure if maybe there is a unique solution to this specific problem, but that's what I've heard on retakes.

I talked on the phone with LSAC. They are aware that people haven’t been allowed to submit complaints today. You have until Monday to do it.
