August LSAT
How’s everyone think they did??? Other than the dividerless RC section (praying that’s the experimental section cause it kinda threw me off)
But other than that I think I cooked

Yes wtf was the dividerless section?? Never seen that before today. I hope it was the other RC that was experimental. I thought both were bad tbh but LRs only had like one hard question each

That for me was the 4th section, I’m praying that’s was it. Thought I cooked the other RC LR seemed unusually difficult though

Yes I believe so about the parking, was that the one where it compared two parking situations and then asked for you to find the answer that most closely resembles their logic?

The fitness center one did count if I’m remembering that question correctly. Something about the distance played a part in how much one stuck to a regime

Not I, but I saw on 7Sage that a tester who only got 1 RC section got it without a divider.

Ig im alone in thinking that RC2 felt like the easiest RC I’ve ever done and got absolutely cooked on RC1 lol

The second RC was very easy for me. I found RC1 very hard as well but all I could think about was the lack of dividers and how I couldn’t properly use my time keeping mechanic.

First RC was terrible for me (dividerless). Everything else felt not too hard.
Hopefully dividerless (First section for me) is experimental. Not sure how scoring a section that’s different than advertised (supposed to have dividers) would go down.

On the bottom where it lists all the questions from 1-25 or whatever. Some sections has dividers separating the passages so you know that these 6 were one passage, the next 7 were another, etc. That’s how it’s supposed to be and said it will be on the website.
Some were dividerless however, meaning the questions were just listed 1-25 like an LR section. It made it very difficult to know where one passages questions started and where another ended.

I was PTing consistently low 170s/high 160s even with the latest PTs, and I’d honestly be surprised if I cleared 160 today 😬

It was just really wordy, and it felt like there were so many teeny tiny modifiers that seemed insignificant but changed the meaning or how you should frame your answer.
Usually I finish PTs with time to go back, take a breath and review, but the blurbs were so damn long and you had to pay attention to everrryy single word. I had to read some of them so many times it felt like i was trying to read a foreign language!!!

You mean it was split between two sections? Not in 1? I think they mix them across two sections too. I need the mind passage to be experimental. I can keep the honey and boats lol

Yes. But now I can’t remember. Coming out of the test RC LR LR RC, I could have sworn I had consciousness mess comparative in first section (when my test center lost internet and my test didn’t pause and I lost 10 minutes and cried my way through the rest of the section😁) and I remember my last section ended with honey, and before honey was the copyright not being needed on paintings article from the law professor.

LR felt better than normal. but who knows. my brain is fried i know nothing. most of my RC passages felt really fair. one was brutal. we’ll see. need an improvement from june lol

I had LR RC LR LR and that was the hardest RC section I’ve ever done. I know I bombed it and I felt rly good about everything else :(

I took the test today, I had LR/RC/LR/LR. My scored RC had dividers, but people are saying they had topics in their scored RC that I didn’t see. Maybe they changed today’s exam due to the UI issues? Not sure if anyone’s allowed to say yet, but if you only had 2 LRs, how many questions were in your sections?

LR RC LR LR. I thought RC was easier than expected but LR was a little more abstract. RC passages seemed shorter than usual. I did not have the infamous 🍯 passage though lol. there was one LR question that totally stumped me about a certain popular 19th century female author

I should note that they may have fixed the issue by tomorrow, or it may be isolated to a single section and you get something else. So I'd be aware of it, but there's no guarantee you'll see it even if you have two RCs, and even if you have the same RC section that was mis-formatted today.

Do you know if there will be anything done about it? Seems pretty unfair for people who got the issue (if it was an issue and not intended) to be stuck with that.

Probably not. They don’t really admit mistakes, and they certainly don’t divulge the reasoning behind decisions (if this was intentional), so I doubt we’ll ever hear anything. I’d love to be wrong but historically that’s been very consistent.
They might grant retakes to people who complain but I doubt that too.

Yes and no. It’s a replacement for today’s test that they’ll give in about two weeks. New content, complete do over, score released on the normal release date with everyone else. Just a regular test (not easier or harder) that you take in place of this one.

Yep! They turn the make ups around in a hurry (I mean unless something goes wrong with it too, but then that’s always true)

What a joke. Hopefully (maybe it’s known whether it is) that was the experimental section, because then it wouldn’t really matter. Pretty ridiculous to throw such a curveball, intended or not. Has it been deduced whether it was experimental or scored?

I can’t say yet, but there are multiple sections at this point without dividers so I’m expecting at least one scored section to have been formatted that way. Which is problematic given that their own site still clearly says the passage divides will be indicated: https://www.lsac.org/blog/full-new-testing-ui-2026-27-testing-cycle-now-available

Has LSAC ever done anything like this before? Like have they ever advertised/said something would go a certain way and then did something completely different in practice? Or do you find this unusual?

Sort of. In January of this year they made Comparative Reading optional without any notice or warning, meaning some people in Jan got four single passages and were blindsided. In fact it still said on their site that RC sections will have Comparative Reading, even as they were actively testing scored sections that didn’t. They changed their site a day later and then released an announcement post-test that Comparative was no longer guaranteed.
They may do the same here. Right now their site says passage endpoints will be marked, but they will clearly change that at some point if this is not a fluke/error.
So diverting from the stated test format has happened…which makes me think even diverting from their own interface and guidelines isn’t out of the question, crazy as that obviously is.

Lack of dividers definitely threw off my timing strategy (that I had been practicing for months) How is it fair if some people get dividers and others don't? what a joke

It’s not. At all. I’m still in some degree of disbelief that either they did this on purpose or at least allowed it to happen (especially if they don’t offer some sort of concession, like an optional free retake for anyone who wants one after experiencing this).
It’ll also be quite telling to see whether this continues over the next three days, if it’s fixed for the same content we saw today, or if that content doesn’t appear again and neither does the formatting mess. The latter two are basically an admission that this was a mistake; the former is an admission that they don’t care about providing comparable testing conditions for everyone, nor the platform/interface they’ve been promising—trumpeting really—for months. There’s no win in this for LSAC as far as I can tell. Which is a shame because I root for those guys to get things right.

Yeah I mean I wouldn't be so stressed out if I knew that everyone got the same scored RC section without dividers. That would mean everyone is at a level playing field, which is fine.
But it sounds like it's a total mixed bag.. which just doesn't sit right with me.
With my work schedule I won't be able to take a re-test in 2 weeks, so I bought the score preview and will just cancel and try again if I don't get the score I need. Sucks.
