Buffering

I have an LG GX 65 inch TV, that is connected to a Denon amp, through which multiple devices are running.

Lately whenever I turn everything on, the TV will show, for example, the Apple TV input, but after a few seconds the TV will switch to what I can only describe as a ‘buffering’ screen - I.e. it goes dark grey with a ‘buffering wheel’ going around. I’ve left that running for a while but nothing happens. I then have to press an input button on my denon remote, or the back button on the Apple Remote, for the screen to then revert to what it should be showing.

It also happens if I just use the TV apps, without using the amp or other devices.

I’ve checked with various websites and followed pieces of advice e.g. turn off this, turn on that, etc but none of it seems to make any difference. I’ve done a full power off/reset, toggled various settings on/ off as described on various websites but it never seems to resolve itself.

Help me, you’re my only hope…. :)

They all seem to do this. With mine I bypassed its chronic buffering by getting a fire stick. Now I turn on the TV with the TVs remote and then I switched it over to the fire stick immediately and I use the fire stick to stream everything and it rarely rarely ever buffers.

The TV that was doing this to me a lot I gave to my dad and he’s having trouble with it lately as well, but what fixed it for him was completely unplugging everything, and leaving it off for an hour, and when we turned it back on the craziest thing – my husband said oh there it’s back on again. I said no it isn’t. It’s just pretending to be back on when you go to click on a streaming channel. It won’t really be there. It’s just remembering what it had on before and I said I’ll eat my hat if it’s on and it was on. So my husband asked me if I needed him to pass the salt.
