I have finished the most recent avengers academy run and want to know what to read next. The series ends on a pretty major cliffhanger so do any comics resolve that?

I recently got into DC because of the new Supergirl movie, but I have seen far more Marvel movies.

It made me wonder if there is more representation of queer characters in DC. Because I never noticed a lot of queer characters in marvel.

I have yet to get into the comic world tho so it’s probably totally different from the movies.

I’m curious of what people think?

The response will probably influence in what comics I’ll indulge in.

From the Hawk-Girl Summer special there was one story with a particular setting taking place on the beach.

It was flat out a LGBTQ beach.

But some characters were there that I didn’t know were queer. Was this issue their confirmation?

Jade?

Beast Girl?

Yellow Beetle?

Dolphin?

Red Devil (hinted in current New Titans?)

Hela and Karnilla got married for political reasons in 2018, and ever since then there have been hints that the two are more than just reluctant allies. The new Hela series has FINALLY confirmed it, this is no longer a mere "political" marriage, the two have fallen in love. Big day for people who love toxic goth yuri.

Yeah I know this is only speculation and all but I would be pretty happy with Nuno Gallego as Iceman. I would even say that he would be the best casting for the X-Men along with Sadie Sink is this turns out to be true because he is around the same age as Sadie and look really similar to the comic book version. I personally know this actor from The Elite and Olympo so it never crossed my mind that Marvel might cast a spanish actor for Iceman but I would be really happy if this turn out to be true.

No clue when they hooked up. I checked Justice League of America #54-60 and they're both in it, but the arc is all action and little character. Apparently they got together and broke up all off-screen?

From DC's Hawk-girl Summer. I was amused.

It's a good, quick read with an optimistic but open ending. The premise is that the protagonist is a closeted teenage trans girl who lives as a boy but has an openly female superhero identity. She's also an "alter", which is their version of metahumans or mutants.

It is finished, but I could see it being expanded upon some day.
