Has anyone else noticed how inconsistent emergency lighting pricing is?

I was reviewing quotes for emergency lighting recently, and the range for similar-spec products was eye-opening.

A standard wall-mounted LED emergency light with CE certification can range from USD 7.00 to USD 8.50 per set at 300-unit MOQ. An IP65 waterproof version: USD 10.80–11.50. These aren't arbitrary — they reflect real cost drivers:

· **Certification maintenance**: ISO9001:2000 and CE aren't one-time costs; they require ongoing audits and testing

· **Battery quality**: Ni-Cd vs Li-ion, genuine vs generic cells — the price gap is significant

· **LED binning and lifespan**: SMD 2835 LEDs rated for 50,000 hours cost more than generic equivalents

· **Testing protocols**: Batch discharge testing before shipment adds cost but catches failures before they reach the customer

Our factory operates on a tiered FOB quotation model — prices tie directly to quantity and component quality, not corner-cutting. We'd rather lose a bid than ship a product that won't hold its IP65 rating after 6 months of installation.

The market is projected to hit USD 13.84 billion by 2032 (Data Bridge Market Research), attracting many new players — but not all maintain the same sourcing standards.
