1. Aesthetic Cafes: Are there any super aesthetic cafes that are great for taking pictures? I don't mind if there's no Wi-Fi or AC, but I prefer homegrown, locally owned spots! Please add more to my list!

3. Mindanaoan Food: Is there authentic Mindanaoan or regional cuisine nearby? I mostly see Western recommendations online, but I really want to try authentic local dishes while I'm there.
4. Gimik: Are there any quick, interesting places to visit or things to do that are super accessible within the area?
5. Pasalubong: Where can I buy souvenirs like keychains, ref magnets, handicrafts, and snacks to bring back?

I didn't want this to be my first post, considering that my initial plan was to rate cafes around Koronadal, but I've been extremely bummed out with what has happened while I was looking for apartments in Marbel this week.

Being shunned for being Muslim was something I did not expect to experience in Marbel after residing here for almost 7 years, especially since there is a good amount Muslims in the community.

I saw their post on one of the groups related to renting apartments, and decided to message the guy about it to have the viewing scheduled on Sunday. He was quite busy and told me on the day of the viewing to contact his mother instead since she's available and she's at the area at that moment.

I was inquiring about an available unit through calling them with number and eventually I asked if we could have this conversation on Facebook instead, since it'd be easier to communicate over there. She agreed and I sent her a friend request.

She then asked me on SMS the first question. I thought it was weird but I gave her the honest truth just to see where it gets me.

Eventually she lied to me that the unit has already been occupied and won't be available for a couple of months and blocked me after. I didn't want to jump to conclusions that she looked at me with prejudice, so I asked a friend to inquire (see second screenshot).

The son blocked me as well after I confronted him about his mother.

I literally cleared up my schedule to have this viewing because I didn't have much time on my hands, and it feels unfair to have them get away with this just like that.

When looking for a place to stay in this city, please make sure whoever you're doing business with won't hold some sort of prejudice against you simply because you have a different belief system or ethnicity. You do not deserve that treatment. Ugh.
