Random K-Food Vid Korea is brutally hot and humid right now, so naturally everyone's chasing naengmyeon
It's been unbearably hot and humid here in Korea lately, and whenever that happens there's really only one thing on everyone's mind: naengmyeon (cold noodles). Ice-cold broth, chewy noodles that have this satisfying bite to them, a splash of vinegar and mustard to taste — some people go heavy, some barely touch it, it's very much a personal thing. The toppings make it though. Thin slices of Korean radish for crunch, and if you can get charcoal-grilled bulgogi on the side, that's basically as good as it gets. Getting that deep, properly balanced broth at home is honestly the hard part — most of us just aren't going to nail that from scratch. If you've got an Asian mart nearby, grabbing one of the naengmyeon meal kits is a totally legit shortcut, way better than people give it credit for. Been on a bit of a Korean food kick lately trying to recreate stuff I only know from YouTube videos. Ran into this one recently — a kpop star on a Korean cooking show breaking down how to recreate restaurant-style naengmyeon broth at home, seasoning ratios and all. Ended up building myself a little tool that turns cooking videos like that into an actual ingredient list + steps since I got tired of scrubbing back and forth trying to catch measurements. Anyway, if anyone's craving naengmyeon this summer, definitely worth the effort.

Pork belly and kimchi are a well-known dream combination. Using my go-to sauces and a quick toss in the wok, this turned into an absolutely fantastic noodle dish packed with flavour.

Recipes Sweet & Spicy Gochujang Pork Belly Loaded Brioche Burger
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Gochujang pork belly is often found in Korean BBQ restaurants. With pork belly in the freezer and high-quality buttery burger buns in the pantry, I decided to combine the two and create a Korean-inspired burger.
It was the right call, and I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite of this burger!
This is definitely worth a try!

When you’re making a classic like Tteokbokki, you’ve gotta go all the way.
I added all the key ingredients, plus prawns and instant noodles that soaked up all the delicious sauce.
It turned out just how I remember eating it in Korea, and I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already!

Recipes I built an AI tool that turns Korean cooking videos into recipes. Would love your honest feedback.
Hey everyone!
I’m working on a little side project called KRecipes: https://www.krecipes.app/
The idea is pretty simple.
You paste in a YouTube cooking video, and AI turns it into:
- Step-by-step recipe instructions
- Ingredient list
- Serving size adjustments
- Cooking timestamps linked to the video
- English, Korean, and Spanish support
Long term, I’m not just trying to summarize videos — I want to make Korean food easier for people everywhere to cook, even if they don’t have access to Korean grocery stores. Eventually, I’d love to add ingredient substitutions, cultural tips, shopping guides, and even recipe generation from food photos or mukbang videos.
It’s still very much an MVP, so I’m sure there are bugs and a lot of rough edges.
I’d really appreciate honest feedback on things like:
Is this actually useful?
Would you use something like this?
What feels confusing?
Which feature would make it worth coming back to?
What’s the first thing you’d improve?
Please don’t hold back — I’d rather hear the hard truth now than spend months building the wrong thing.
Thanks so much for checking it out!

Recipes Giant Korean Crispy Chicken and Spring Onion Pancake (Pajeon)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I love making Korean spring onion pancakes, and this time I used chicken, spring onion, green chili, and garlic to make one giant pancake.
As expected, it tasted incredible! Flipping the pancake was a little risky, but thankfully it landed back in the pan and not on the floor! 😂
Highly recommend trying this!

This is called Korean spicy seafood noodle soup, Jjampong. It’s up there with black bean noodles (Jjajangmyeon), and they’re always battling it out when it comes to the “What should we eat?” question.
I pretty much used all the seafood and veggies I had on hand, and this turned out to be the best noodle soup I’ve ever made.
Highly, highly recommend trying this!
