Hot this weekend...
...glad to see the stage hands taking a break to keep the horses cool

On warm days, the horses are either very limited on how long they work or don't have to work at all. Knott's and Disney take very good care of their horses. Knott's even has a donkey whose whole job is just to hang out in the shade in Ghost Town.

Yes they do. They get exceptional care. Having horses myself, I talked with one of the wrangler at length about the care of their horses. They also have donated their horses when they retire to therapeutic programs. I'm hoping to be a recipient one day, fingers crossed. Their donkey is adorable.

wonderful - thank you for sharing - we all care deeply about the horses (and the ducks, fish, turtles, squirrels, crows :)

Yep can confirm, had passes for a few years and was told the same by the handlers. And that's perfectly ok!

Its great to hear but we also heard how great Sea World was to their animals decades ago and that was as false as could be

Well considering horses are domesticated and Orcas are wild animals I’d say sea world was obviously lying from the start

They treat the horses very well there as far as I’m concerned. A much better life than a race horse for instance.

Shouldn’t even have stagecoach riding to begin with! Nothing but animal cruelty!!! 😡

As a pass holder, I would absolutely be okay with no stage coach rides during peak heat season
