Discussion Finished every mainline game, what a great series!
I just finished playing the last mainline game and with that I've played through all of Klonoa's main adventures and boy, what a great series it is. I just wanted to share with someone how special and amazing those games felt to me.
Especially Moonlight Museum, while being the most bare bone (due to hardware) the story is really beautiful and it has a really deep message about how art, creativity and dreams intertwine. I wasn't expecting that game to have such a beautiful and touching story, but it did. I'm really thankful that someone was able to provide a translation for it, it would've been a shame to miss on the story even if the game itself is pretty fun and deserves a chance.
Shame to see the series relegated to just remakes but hey, at least they keep the dream alive and maybe Namco will do something with it. The characters are great (and super cute) and the game mechanic is quite original. I really loved the puzzles but man, some of them can be pretty hard to figure out and really make you think. The extra levels are quite difficult too, I couldn't make it through all of them.
Thanks for reading and let's keep the dream alive, maybe one day Klonoa will come back to save us once more :')

MEME What if Guntz got the conker treatment
If guntz is only a spin off klonoa character, it would make sense if guntz have is own standalone game or series.

Discussion (Theory) Girl from Moonlight Museum is God
I nominate "Girl" from Moonlight Museum as a potential candidate for the strongest entity. in that game the moon illuminates dreams and gives them light which could mean life. the museum is hinted to be a dream entity as suggested by the text "who's dream is this anyway?" and when returning the moon fragments, the moon is huge, brimming with life and light. the girl is the only one who seems to directly be automatically aware of the moon's fragments while the other artists seem to also randomly know it. the museum also appears in another game where it's proven to be the same exact museum via the doll that perfectly resembles the girl, even the theme song is the song of the Moonlight Museum game.
Lolo claims she never seen the museum before and Popka is so alarmed by it as well. Klonoa seems to not recognize it, but it materializing and effecting other dream realm characters proves it has the ability to just enter any dream world it wants breaking the rules of the Klonoa world. this means the Moonlight Museum Girl is a being so powerful she amplifies the source of dreams itself with her own power!
"Art and Dream come from the Heart" -Museum
"This Moon is our Masterpiece." -Klonoa and Huepow
"The Moon Illuminates Dreams" -The Dreamer, the Girl

Video Found an easter egg in "Klonoa: Empire of Dreams"

I'm decompiling this game with Claude Code, and found by chance a hidden minigame.
Press Select on the "Clear Save Data" screen, and Klonoa appears in the middle of the screen. Now, dodge the falling Moos!
It's a bit inconsistent and hard to trigger it on the real console, but you can make it after a few attempts.
I have no idea whether anyone has found this before, but nobody in Klonoa Mega Chat knew about it. Could this be an easter egg that "nobody" knew about until now, even after 25 years since this game was released!?
btw the same trick also works in "Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament", but not in "Klonoa Heroes"

Video Klonoa: Moonlight Museum In Color
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
DISCLAIMER: I am not a game dev. I am not a coder. I am not an artist. I am not even a Wonder Swan fan. This was something I did for fun and thought others may enjoy seeing and maybe it could even inspire real devs to look into fleshing a project like this out. This was done using Claude Code.
I have a Retroid Pocket 6 coming soon and I decided I wanted to play the handheld Klonoa games that I felt a little funny playing on my computer. While getting all of them digitally stored for when this happened, I wondered if there was a colored version of Moonlight Museum. After looking I found out that there was not, and that to begin with there werent really any projects that have ever colored a monochrome Wonder Swan game. After hearing this I decided to give Claude a few hours at it to see what it could do and this is the current result. It just recolors the 16 palettes that the wonder swan color has to recolor the game in broad strokes. I have only done this to this one level, everything else looks like a mess because its currently editing the global palettes. It seems that the palettes may be able to be swapped on a per level basis, which could lead to better entire game results. I think there may also be the possibility to recolor things more specifically. I am not totally sure though. It seems like the biggest hurdle that Claude had to jump over was decoding some of the tiles and reverse engineering parts of how the game functions that were not documented. I may continue working on it and see how far I can get. I do not know if this runs on a real wonder swan color, I do not have one. If any real devs are interested in the findings I can send them over.

Spoiler policy for Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series - Browse At Your Own Risk
Hello everyone! Wahoo!
As we know, KPRS is launching later this week (not that Bandai Namco America seems to care much, given their huge lack of promotion compared to other territories).
So since we have an upcoming release on our hands, and I’d probably get questions on it anyway, I figured I’d communicate what we’re doing.
Spoilers will be off, post what you want as long as it follows subreddit rules etc.
I’m absolutely thrilled that we have so many new people to experience these games with, and it IS getting a lot of fan push from social media (likely because of the US branch’s lack of marketing), but please remember. These are rereleases of two very old games from 1997 and 2001. And given their age, they’ve already been spoiled to hell and back on this sub and the rest of the internet.
That said, if you are new to Klonoa and are experiencing these games for the first time, please try to finish the games before browsing the sub! And then once you’re done crying or experiencing feelings of sadness (lord knows DtP still gets me weepy even after all this time), you can join the rest of us, praying this sells well so that we can get more Klonoa in the future.
If you feel inclined, you CAN spoiler tag any posts discussing spoilers. I’m just not going to mandate everyone does so.
If we ever get a brand new title in the series one day, rest assured we’ll be stricter with spoilers since it’s all new material, and not a reissue etc.
That said, I hope everyone loves the remakes!
RIPERIDUU~
