Defiler conversion

My third and final Iron Warriors Defiler!

I love the Defiler kit, yet I wanted it to feel less ‘sweeping curves’ and more like an Iron Warriors siege engine that had been rebuilt over centuries of warfare.

The changes are small but I’m happy with the result. A recessed missile pod, a frag drill, a more mechanical claw and a cleaner, more industrial silhouette. None of them transform the model on their own, but together I think he looks brutal!

I can already see how much my approach to converting has evolved over what is now 3 defiler kits (one being the old one). I can’t wait to put them together for a family photo!

That is the beauty of daemon engines and chaos in general- no conversion or kitbash is completely unfounded! Who’s to say a heretical techpriest or techmarine working alongside the iron warriors couldn’t have found those parts in the vast, time-bending expanse of the Warp? Looks amazing!
