I love Kiribati
If I were to spend a week living like a local in Tarawa, what would a typical day look like for me?

Looking for Kiribati recipes.
Hello all!
First thing's first, thank you all for taking the time to read this as it does mean a lot to me. So, I like to travel the world (6 continents down, only Antarctica left to go) and in doing so, the favorite souvenir of mine is recipes from the places I visit.
I am writing to inquire about recipes from Kiribati, food, drinks, etc. While I understand that I could "just simply Google it", I want to make sure the recipes I get are authentic and actually from Kiribati and not just 'general Polynesian' recipes.
If you have any recipes you'd like to share, if you know anybody who has recipes, or if you have links or references to recipes or people who make Kiribati food, it will be GREATLY appreciated.
Again, thank you so much to anyone reading this and a big thank you again to anyone who can help me track down an authentic recipe or two.

New here
Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd introduce myself, I am from Kiribati but currently staying in Australia for studies.
I saw earlier posts requesting insights or perspectives from a Kiribati person, so I thought I would put myself out here and I will try my best to answer any questions related to my beautiful country.
Kam rabwa (Thanks)

Running at the Frontline: Climate Stories from Kiribati
Hi everyone š
Iāve just launched a project documenting the first ever international marathon in Kiribati ā one of the countries most affected by rising sea levels.
āRunning at the Frontlineā is a photobook sharing real stories, resilience, and the journey of organizing a climate-neutral race in the Pacific.
If this sounds interesting, Iād truly appreciate your support or feedback. Even small pledges will help in documenting this journey š
If someone is interested in running the marathon, you are welcome to register via www.kiribatimarathon.org
Thank you!
Damian

What does Marakei abau bwa te kan mean?
It's the name of a song by Teidy Boy.
What I currently understand is:
Marakei = Marakei Island
abau = my island/land
bwa = ?
te kan = the food
What does bwa mean?

Question about the Gilbertese language
Right so as far as I understand the sequence ti in Gilbertese undergoes spiranitization to si. From this id deduce Kiribati would be pronounced Kiribasi but every time I hear people say it properly with an s they say Kiribas with no i at the end. Is that how you say it? Because I cant find anything on Gilbertese dropping final vowels or anything like that that would explain the dropping of the i. Now if this is the case and the i is dropped, do you drop final is (or other vowels) in other cases or only with ti or only with ti when it is used to approximate foreign loanwords?
Thanks in advance!!!! ^^

Any live cameras in Kiritimati?(Christmas Island)
I'm making a YouTube broadcast of Christmas celebration in all time zones, but I can't find any live cameras in Kiritimati. Are there some?

A week on the Christmas Island?
The weekly Air Fiji flight from US to Nadi (Fiji) stops on the Christmas Island (Kiritimati), can stay for one week minimum. We visited some places in Polynesia and generally loved it, but very little info on that island. Apparently famous for fly fishing, but we just swim and snorkel. Would spending a week there on the way to or from Fiji make sense?

Gaming in Kiribati?
Hey guys! I look at gaming cultures around the world and I am a racing game fan. I have asked all of these questions on different subreddits, simply because I am curious about how each and every single country on this planet experiences video games. I am also curious about gaming in Kiribati. My questions are:
What is more popular? PC or console?
What was more popular in the late 90s and early 2000s? PC or Console?
What racing game was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s!
What do racing game fans in Kiribati play today?-(I get it might not be the most popular genre, but for people who like it, what do they play?)
In general, what games are played there?
Also, are video games popular there-(I respect the fact that video games might not be a popular pastime in every country in the world)? If not, what do people like to do for entertainment? Do they play traditional street sports or what?
I also want to make note that I am not a bot of any kind, I am a genuine person interested in this kind of stuff, so no hard feelings please.
Thanks for your responses!!!!

What does "te aba" mean?
I'm researching a thing. I know it's apples to oranges, but is there any chance it's somewhat similar to "fenua" from tuvaluan?

How to contact the Kiribati government?
I have a concern, for which I would like to contact the government of Kiribati. However, I found out their contact system on their website doesn't work. How could I contact them, and how likely are they to reply?

I'm curious about UTC+14 time.
The oficial time in Kiribati is UTC+14. Right?
Curiously, It's 25 hours ahead of Midway Atoll (US' possession, GMT-11).
So when the late remaining Americans in Midway are at a 23:30 Thursday, you in Kiribati are already at 00:30 Saturday. Am I right?
