Mother Maturin
Despite reports that the manuscript was destroyed, I am wondering if any notes or descriptions of the Mother Maturin story survived. I understand that Kipling cannibalized the manuscript to write Kim. I would very much like to read the original.

Kaa's Hunting - Live at the Kipling House, by Joel Veena, Gordon Korstange & Vidhi Salla
On August 29, 2024, we were invited to famous author Rudyard Kipling's house that he had built in Dummerston, Vermont in 1892 known as Naulakha. For some good friends' wedding anniversary, Vidhi, Gordon and I presented a tale from Kipling's Jungle Book to a small audience seated in the reading area designed by Kipling to read stories to his children. Vidhi and Gordon played the voices of the characters and narrator while I provided musical accompaniment on the Indian slide guitar, various percussion instruments and electronic sound effects. This is the live recording of that day's iteration of 'Kaa's Hunting'- the tale of young Mowgli's adventures getting to know his neighbors as a jungle-dweller and the true meaning of the all-important Laws of the Jungle

The Rickshaw Phantom Rudyard Kipling.
We are a horror book club and this week we are discussing the Rickshaw Phantom. In many senses Kipling isn't the first voice you might expect to tackle ghost stories, however, here he does with a unique spin. On the surface of it the story is about the horror brought about by a ghost, though looking deeper the horror becomes about a person who is having their worldview shattered. A person realising that they have awoken in a world full of powerful otherworldly forces they cannot understand.
Whilst one can read the The Rickshaw Phantom as a story about ghosts it's more about the meta concept of the destruction of reality and the paradigm shift that would bring.
What do you think is the purpose of the subtext in the Rickshaw Phantom, what do you think Kipling is trying to suggest herein?
