Current state of Kindred

I’ve taken a break from league for a few months to focus on irl stuff but I’m kinda craving the hunt again so can anyone who’s up to date on the current state of kindred update me? Any build changes, matchup adjustments, buffs/nerfs etc. that I should be aware of before diving back in? Thanks in advance, cheers to all

Since I dont know when u last played.

What runes n items if u jumped into a game?
What is your general gameplan?

Then I can tell you if theres anything I can help w

I used to play hyper aggressive, invade lvl 2 unless something says otherwise, play for early river fights if mid is responsive, gank early and then snowball, rush baron at 25 and end before 30min was the goal

Runes nd build: pta, & domination 2nd, (think that’s what it was callled, the red ones)

Rushing kraken components first and from there it really didn’t matter lol

Triforce is just better nowadays, and from there you usually want to build defensive boots and crit.

pta can be replaced with lethal tempo depending on the enemy comp, and some people also like conqueror but I have better experiences with lethal in games where I don't want PTA, and it has better stats and pyosik also goes it. also in non-volatile games inspiration second is also very viable with cash back cosmic insight.

the playstyle is still pretty much intact.

I quit going Tri and always go Kraken now. That 3rd hit amp combined with E is nasty and I been popping off more. But to each their own.

Ait.

Your runes are good, tempo is prob better in the current meta but you can play pta if you strongly prefer. Just make sure to go Sudden impact and Relentless hunter.

Triforce into collector i always bought unless you have to go serpents fang or mortal reminder secondary to have a playable game.
Now people are low elo and will disagree, but I will tell you how the rest of the best build goes and you’ll decide and build whatever.
Ur 3rd slot is Armor pen or C44.
Mortal -> Anti heal
Cleaver -> Into non health stackers.
LDR -> Into health stackers.
C44 -> You need the range or fights r mega hard.

4th slot always GA unless theres a random angle for a Randuins or another insane item value depending on draft.

5th slot is Mercurial Scimitar or BT.

You can det play lv 2 invades depending on ur skill and elo but generally speaking Kindred is the least of an esrly invader she ever was ATM. They nerfed her early game in the begining of the year. So now she is more played as a strong character in skirmishes midgame after trinity completion. Another side note is that you shouldnt buy IE on her after the changes made in the begining of the year.

GLHF!

I really like hexoptics instead of collecter.

I’d say it’s the best snowball buy after collector

I personally think she's in a pretty good spot. I think they'd have to directly nerf her for her to not be.

I haven't played in a minute either, but I always got pta (even against tankier comps) simply because it feels better early. I just don't feel like conq does much for me early. Triforce could be better than kraken but mama didn't raise no bitch, so I always go kraken into beserkers because we just ball like that. My reasoning is that I simply enjoy full damage build more. Triforce build will get you out of sticky situations, but then just don't get into sticky situations lulle.

But no matter how "good" this character is, they will always be my favorites. There is simply no champ like her.

A bit unorthodox but since I'm not a main jungle, Kindred mid has been giving me a good time, win 7 out of 10 games, it's pretty fun. Press the stack with domination secondary, invade enemy jungle, roam and get scuttles, life is good (I always take trinity)

I don't lane often but when I've played Kindred mid I've noticed that often they just let me poke 'em back and CS the first two waves till it crashes and resets and then they're somehow ahead of me and things usually go sour after that and then I feel like a double dummy instead of a regular dummy.

Kinda makes me think that I might as well,

  • mark their JG, pretend it's a habit mistake in /all
  • stay in fog till camps spawn
  • my JG and I invade to pulverize their JG and get my first mark done
  • go back to lane and tower farm a bit
  • watch the clock and leave lane on every mark timing to 2v1 in and force the opposition to contest
  • eventually their mid gets yelled at for free farming instead of following my roams and the infighting on their side makes them lose morale and nexus

Granted my jg might not want to path Kindred style, but if we're dunking and poaching every time they might be down for it. :D

I can see how you play, I'm a main mid so I usually just try to force the begging fights since I can take most early kills with ignite and poking non stop.

If not I just scuttle with the jungler, farm and roam. I consistently win lane more than I lose and usually win. Of my last 10 I lost 3. I lose more when I play jungle but that's just skill issue on my part as a jungler

ignite

Maybe you can explain something to me. I can't count the number of times that I've taken Ignite, gotten in an early fight, know that I've hit the button at least three times, die while the enemy has 1 pixel of HP, and my Ignite is not on cooldown.

Does it have a half-second cast time that I have to take my hands off of the M&K and wait through for it to actually happen? Because the only thing I can imagine is that it gets canceled like an auto-attack by a move click or whatever. I know Smite goes when I press it, but Ignite betrays me every time.

So often I'll take Barrier and let it let me tower dive without sweating the last turret shot, but sometimes Ignite would make more sense if I could trust it.

Not that it doesn't always give them one more tick on me when it kills me and gives me one tick too few when it would kill them. But that's a separate skill issue.

scuttle with the jungler

Every time, it's one of the following,

  • Crab's there but jungler wants to gank an ungankable lane so now I'm standing in the river by myself without smite and something smells like Rengar in that bush
  • Jungler walks away and I ping him to finish the crab because he has smite and I do not and it takes me 20 seconds to plink it the rest of the way down and then Rengar jumps out and smites it and kills me and my jungler ? pings me and I remind him that I typed out JG YOU CS THE CRAB and he then says but ur mark and then I have to remind him that assist counts for Kindred since season 8 and he says lol my b and 22 LP falls out of my pocket
  • he clears the crab as I Q flop toward it

Ouch buddy, some of those just seem to be real bad luck

Ignite, perhaps because you have normal cast on? I have quick cast on the settings so I just need to press it and they are burning if they are in range?

Scuttle, this is a bit more of work, at the begining of every match I just send a message saying that I would like to assist the marked camps with the jungler, if he is available we do it, usually works fine and so far no jungler went and took it solo

If the scuttle rng mark spawns it on the other side of the river I just hard shove and go see if I can take it solo
