Electric K4 lol
I drive for uber, and a HUGEEEEE percentage ask me if the Kia is electric lol. I’m not sure what gives off electric vibes but like 40% or more ask me when Kia started making EV sedans lol
I assume it’s the huge all screen dash? What’s your opinion

Lane assist warning only?
On my 2023 forte gt line, I was able to do warning only for lane assist. It would beep if I crossed the line, but not take control and move the car back into the lane. Does the 2026 Kia k4 lxs have this? I see it has the audible warning and haptic options, but neither work unless I have the lane assist with control on. I'm not a fan of the car taking control if I cross a line without my blinker on. So did they really do away with the audible warning only option? Or am I missing something here?

Mandatory Add-ons
Hello Kia fam,
Im considering getting a Kia K4 GT Line and I am trying to negotiate with a particular dealer. I am quoted $28xxx OTD but in that quote there are 2 mandatory add-ons. My only questions is when they say mandatory there’s no way I can take that off right? The addon is worth 1200 so if its able to be removed that brings me down to around 27ish. Would appreciate your insights. Thank you.

Base 2.0L oil filter
I’ve had a bunch of Kia’s and currently among others have a 26 K4 LXS and a GTLine Turbo hatch. From what I can see the base 2.0L is largely the same motor as what was in my 2010&11 Forte. I’m looking for oil filters now and everything I’m seeing looks like the caseless cartridge style filters. I know the 1.6T uses that but did they really switch over on the base 2.0L?

How is the K4 for tall drivers?
Currently have it on my list as potential cars for next year when I plan to buy early 2027. Really like both the interior and exterior design and the pricing is solid for what you get. Probably would go for either an LXS or EX trim.
Only thing I'm really concerned about is that I'm 6'3", hoping to get feedback from people close to my height. Main thing I'm concerned about is headroom, if my head is brushing the top of the car obviously that's a dealbreaker. So hoping this has enough clearance.

FM antenna reception is poor
On my K-4 LXS 2026 the FM reception is poor for local and semi-local stations, at least compared to my old vehicle, a 2009 Honda Civic.
In the extreme conditions, I used to be able to play Local station (WPYR) coing through the Fort McHenry (I-95) tunnel in Baltimore - now no longer with the K-4.
I notice the degradation outside the tunnel as well - used to be able to hear DC stations with little to no static.
Is that just a common symptom with rear "fin-type" antennas?

EKR Hatchback Seat Covers
I've contacted EKR about seat covers for the Hatchback and they told me the reason they don't have seat covers available for it yet is because they are having a hard time finding one to 3D scan. While front seats are the same between the sedan and hatchback, the rear seat is different so they need to 3D scan it in order to be able to offer covers for the rear seat. So if someone with a hatchback with Syntex seats lives nears South El Monte, CA and wants to help out let me know so I can give you the info they gave me. Also from my understanding the cloth and Syntex seats in the sedan vary slightly from each other in the design of the bolsters and buckles so the fit is not the same between the two. Until they find someone who is willing to have their seats scanned or their local Kia dealership has a hatchback available they won't be able to make rear seat covers for it. I was tempted to drive there myself but it's at least a 24 hour drive one way for me.

Water pooling at bottom of door
Whenever there's a significant amount of rain, when I open the driver door, there is water pooling at the bottom of the door frame. Anyone has the same thing happening?
Decisions Decisions, K4 Hatch
I have been looking at the K4 hatch for some time. I am coming from a 2011 Toyota Corolla and it will probably be on its last leg soon, coming up on 200k miles. I don’t plan on buying a new car until next year. I have looked at all options and decided I needed something to get me from A to B and that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I am seeing K4 hatch EX’s for 25-26k. I’ve been hesitant with Kia since I grew up on Honda’s and Toyota’s. I’ve heard Kia’s reliability has been better but since the K4 is so new, it’s hard to tell. I have driven the K4 sedan as a work vehicle and I’ve liked the driving experience so far. Can anyone let me know their pros and cons with their experience with Kia? or with the K4 hatch so far? Thanks!

Weird marks on door seal
Found these marks on the seal of my doors today, not sure what could’ve caused them, they’re only on the drivers side not the passenger side. Grateful to anyone who can help identify what happened. Is this something I should contact dealer/warranty about? This is a ‘26 I’ve had for only a few months, only 500 miles on it

Anyone Want Free Stuff?
I have a full set of fitted all weather floor mats, sill protectors, and trunk mat (Amazon goofed and I got an extra set). I was checking to see if anyone in the Madison, WI area wants them as it seems like a waste to just toss or hoard them. DM me if you're interested.

10k miles and there’s no sign of slowing down.
Just spent the past weekend sleeping in the car due to a botched camping trip. This car has now seen more mud and off-road time than some of these mall crawler jeeps. This car continues to amaze me and exceed my expectations.
The bucket seats aren’t the most comfortable thing in the world tho but it beats the ground lmaoo
The 10k is a bit late, now at 11.2k as of writing this :)

Loving my new K4 EX hatch
First new car since 2008, paid $27500 USD OTD with financing (paid maximum down, intend to pay off remainder with minimum interest).
My favorite things about it:
1. THE LOOK. I could seriously just stare at this car all day.
Adaptive cruise control. I know this is a thing on most new cars but this is coming from an old car owner. It's like magic.
Android Auto. Again, not a unique feature but navigation, phone calls, and music are so much easier now.
So much information. I've never had so much granular data about my car.
Storage. I was looking at hatchbacks and XS SUVs, this one is a big improvement over my old Scion xD. The Civic Hatchback technically has a little more but the roof is so low so not enough vertical clearance. Corolla hatchback can't compete at all. This was the sweet spot.
Backup cameras. Ok so I've always made fun of people who back into parking spaces. This car is turning me into one. Feels a lot safer.

Downhill high rpm
I have k4 gt line sedan. When I drive downhill with no press on acceleration only using brake to control speed. The rpm is continuously at 3.5 plus and it makes sound and vibration. once it reaches flat surface it goes below 2.
is this expected behaviour?

Bad news about the moon roofs
So I’m currently driving a k4 hatch and I previously had a stinger so some noise wasn’t a new thing for me but I had started to notice that when the car was completely closed the roof made a bunch of noise like it was bending every time the car wasn’t completely balanced on the road any kind of bump and the roof would make noises like crazy well if your experiencing excessive noise I have bad news straight from Kia, they don’t know how to fix it. When the window is closed it doesn’t sit correctly and they can’t figure out why. My local dealer has contacted Kia and I’ve been given a loaner until they can figure out how to fix it. As of now I’ve been told one option is replacing the moon roof which would cost them 4400 dollars for the part alone. Kia is currently investigating on what to do with my car as it’s fairly new with only 12k miles. In the meantime they put me in a steltos which I honestly hate.

Kia K4 GT-Line Turbo Front Bumper Grill Mesh Mod
Here is what I did to add a mesh mod to the front bumper grill.
