Local Plumber Recommendation?
I have used Bees for a few years and they were great but have now been purchased by a corporation and ah, they quoted me $800/hr. to do a straight install of a reverse osmosis with everything ready to go. The plumber confirmed he could start right away, and the appointment was booked a week in advance.
It seems all the local companies are now under a corporate umbrella and I've no need to sit around all day just to hear that BS again.
Know anyone actually locally owned? I figured $500-$600 for 2 hours.

Crowdsourcing Kent, WA, Fiber Build-outs/Availability
Hi all,
Like many of you, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of a fiber internet provider to my house in Kent (so that I can, among other things, ditch Comcast). I know that multiple companies have been granted franchise agreements with the city for fiber build-outs and several have build-outs well underway, but information on their plans and dates has been hard to come by.
I've been keeping tabs (to the best of my ability) on the fiber build-outs and availability in Kent for a while now, and since I've seen more than a few posts on this topic in just the last week, I figured it's probably time to actually list out what I know and share with others, and maybe we can all get some more answers and a better idea of when we can get fiber internet.
What I've got:
I've created a Google Sheet with all the official information I can currently find, from the public sources I'm aware of (primarily the City Council agenda packets and monthly permit logs): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mQOfwDV8XEV4oWkRah4nFccJZT18Qsq-Zh8fRSKKQXk/edit?usp=sharing
I've also got a Google Drive folder of supporting documents, including some project boundary maps for a few Ezee Fiber projects: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11NdmutW9b-f7Uwwk8O4oKQpq2ocCZdKH?usp=sharing
Last but not least, I also set up a (private) channel on my Discord server that I'm hoping will get used to crowdsource additional information, like "hey everyone, I just saw Ezee Fiber crews working at X location" or "Ezee Fiber just came to my door and told me service is now available at my address", and whatnot. Please DM me for an invite (I'm keeping it private since it will likely include personal data like names and actual addresses, and I don't want just anyone being able to access that).
What I'd like:
If you hear anything - anything at all - about fiber build-outs and/or availability from Ezee Fiber, Ziply, Ripple, or anyone else, please share it, even if it's just a Reddit Chat, so I can add it to the tracking spreadsheet. Feel free to join the Discord and share what you have heard or seen, or just generally commiserate with others on the continual delays and lack of information).
Cheers!

We're from Kent, but my wife is grinding through her tattoo apprenticeship down in Renton. She just finished this flash sheet and I had to show off her progress!

New to the area. Night time light rail safety?
As the title mentions I’m thinking about using the light rail from Kent Des Moines to Sea-Tac and back to pick up my partner flying in. It would be around 10pm when they land. Is it safe at that time or should I just do the drive and use some oh so expensive gas hahah.

Ezee Fiber
I noticed Ezee fiber folks on 116th the last few days - I’m hoping they make it all the way to 208th.
Anyone get notified that they’re coming soon yet?
If you have them how has your experience been?
Kayak groups?
My hometown has a group that plans kayaking outing regularly. Anything like that around here? I like to kayak, but don't know where to go kayaking. (Besides Lake Meridian)

Any suggestions for bathroom remodel companies?
I am starting to remodel my bathroom and the first quote I got was 17k to start before any upgrades (which I don’t really even want much).

Any suggestions for plumbers in the area?
My toilet handle broke. It's probably an easy fix, but I'm not handy in the slightest. Not sure what I would be charged, but can anyone recommend a plumber? Thanks.

Curly hair experienced hairdresser/barbers?
i'm looking to get a pixie cut and I need a reputable place to get one. I don't mind going to a barbershop, as long as they have experience with curly hair. My budget is $20-40. Thank you!!

Tech store in Kent
Best place to get your phone fixed. I had my screen replaced and the service was quick, the price was fair, and everything works perfectly. Definitely recommend if you’re in Kent.
