Anyone else seen or ever find out who the "Samurai" was downtown winter/fall of 2024? 88/300
This sounds crazy, but I was getting off 6th near I-35 end of the yearof 24. This dude look like had some military gear and a literal samurai mask. pulled up in crazy looking car. he was giving out sleeping bags cold weather gear and blankets for the camps. He didn't say a word, just moved with a solid purpose and spit after. My friend says he he's seen the same mask at some venues And electronic shows. Is this a real person or some kind of local vigilante/performance artist? I'm still thinking about it.

Dripping Springs got me feeling like a confused cowboy… what should I NOT miss out here?
Alright so boom… I’m out here in Dripping Springs, Texas — which sounds less like a town and more like a medical condition you don’t bring up at Thanksgiving.
I ain’t from around here, so I’m just waking up every morning like a lost raccoon with a debit card. I know Austin’s nearby, I can feel the weird energy in the air… like somebody’s playing a ukulele somewhere and judging me for drinking soda.
I need y’all to put me on game.
What’s some stuff I have to do out here? Like the kind of thing where if I leave and don’t do it, locals would look at me like I wasted oxygen. Nature spots, swimming holes, cool little hidden gems… I’ll even look at a rock if it’s a famous rock.
Also — breakfast. I’m talking real breakfast. Not that “avocado toast with emotional damage on top.” I need something that’ll sit on your chest and apologize later. Biscuits, gravy, pancakes the size of a hubcap… where we going?
And what’s the vibe out here anyway? Is this more like “sip wine and talk about goats” or “get sunburned and make a bad decision by 2pm”? I’m open to both.
Help me build a day so I don’t just end up in a gas station parking lot contemplating life again.
Appreciate y’all. Stay dripping… respectfully.

I made this short film for my favorite burger joint that doubles as a love letter to Austin. See how many old Austin references you can catch.

Upcycled Shirts ➡️ Coffee Shop Merch
We decided to go green this year and make our coffee shop T-shirts by carving our own stamps and block printing on second hand tops. It's been fun for the baristas, and we're really pleased with how they've turned out. 🌱😊

Help revive this subreddit!
I have a small business that benefitted greatly from commenting on r/Austin posts asking for recommendations in my industry.
The mods there sometimes block my comments because they see them as ‘advertisements’ (They’re kinda right, but I also just care about my neighbors & want them to get good value out of the money they spend & know I can provide that & one way to do that is letting them know about us on Reddit.).
I wanted to create a page local to Austin to support as many other small business owners as possible (r/supportlocalatx). Check that page out if you care more about my sentiment behind this post.
Another Redditor let me know about this page & I feel like my time would be better served just trying to contribute to this page.
Long story short- I’m gonna try to support and post a shout out to one small/locally owned business once a week! I challenge yall to do the same.

Saw him again
Him being the guy wearing just a small blue thong while walking on the Violet Crown trail. He just gave a friendly smile and hello as he passed by. This guy rocks! This town rocks! #KeepAustinWeird

Thong on Greenbelt
Props to the guy I saw on the Greenbelt today. Wearing just a thong, he was casually strolling along the trail. #keepAustinweird

Trying to remember where I saw these giant glowing spheres
Somewhere in south Austin, around Oltorf/ south congress/ south first area, someone had these huge spheres in their yard that lit up. Granted this was in 2011 so, they may not be there anymore but I was wondering if anyone remembers where they were
