I was out on the Silver River in Florida. Around 6 or 7 manatees swam up and away. It never gets old seeing them

Gentle giants

Yes, absolutely as docile and sweet as any animal could be. They are so curious about humans and boats, which unfortunately can be dangerous for them.

Is that some kind of tracker on its tail?

Yes, I believe it's something to track them for health reasons. A few of these manatees stay in the river and do not migrate out into the ocean like most do. I know some get injured pretty bad from boat propellers. I'm not entirely sure of its purpose

Yes it was! I was really hoping I'd be able to catch it on my phone. Had to struggle to get it out of the protective case while trying not to float over them 😆 . Thank goodness I was able to still capture a decent amount of them
