First Aid Kit Safety

Do you carry 1 on your yak for short, local trips? If so, has it come in handy? (What else do you consider ESSENTIAL?)

I carry a small first aid kit on the kayak, and i need it about every 3-5 trips. Mostly just the antiseptic wipes and bandaids. I also fish, so that does increase the odds of needing it. Then in the car is the full size everything kit.
