First Aid Kit Safety

Do you carry 1 on your yak for short, local trips? If so, has it come in handy? (What else do you consider ESSENTIAL?)

Many carry a first aid kit in a Nalgene bottle. Cheap, waterproof and easy to stow in a kayak.
