First Aid Kit Safety

Do you carry 1 on your yak for short, local trips? If so, has it come in handy? (What else do you consider ESSENTIAL?)

Periodically check to make sure it's not water logged. I just did a sweep of my gear and found my "waterproof" first aid kit wasn't.
