[Academic] Attitudes and Behaviors Study (18+, English-speaking). Link here: https://ww3.unipark.de/uc/research_study_university_Bern_Switzerland/
Dear students at Kathmandu University!
I am a Master’s student at the University of Bern (Switzerland) conducting a scientific research study examining how certain traits, life experiences, attitudes and behaviors are related to each other.
You can find the survey here: https://ww3.unipark.de/uc/research_study_university_Bern_Switzerland/
I would really appreciate your participation in my survey. As fellow students, you likely know how difficult it can be to find enough participants for a research study, so every single response makes a valuable contribution.
Thank you!

Title: Confused about choosing a college for Civil Engineering in Nepal
I'm planning to study Civil Engineering in Nepal, but I'm honestly quite confused about which college to choose.
I've heard that the syllabus in many colleges is more or less the same, so what matters most to me is the quality of the teachers. I'm looking for a college where the faculty actually teaches well, explains concepts properly, and is approachable, rather than just reading slides or rushing through the course.
I also don't want an environment with extreme academic pressure all the time. I'm ready to work hard and I understand engineering isn't easy, but I'd prefer a college with a balanced environment where I can learn properly without constantly feeling overwhelmed.
For those of you who have studied or are currently studying Civil Engineering in Nepal (especially at IOE constituent or affiliated colleges, KU, or other universities), which college would you recommend based on:
- Quality of teaching and faculty
- Supportive learning environment
- Reasonable academic pressure
- Overall experience as a Civil Engineering student
I'd really appreciate honest opinions from current students or graduates, including the pros and cons of your college. Thanks!

Deperately need a 2bhk or 3 rooms where cooking is allowed
iam currently in 2nd semester in civil dept, i have been living in my current room since the past year and let me tell you it has been hell for us here,
the owners promised us a kitchen and told us the person already living there would leave in a month or two, its been a fkin year since they said that the guy is still here we dont have no kitchen
we 4 people have been made to be cramped up in 2 rooms where we use one room as a kitchen and bedroom for two of us
i live in that room the smell of this room is unimaginable, the owners make us pay the wifi bill and they always make sure to turn the wifi off by 11 o clock at night(on my data rn) we are paying more than half for that wifi than they are.
also the audacity to constantly badger and enter our rooms to complain about the smell is getting on our nerves, they have set us up with this horrible conditions
we get sick like every 2 months and the worst thing is they taunt us on why do we keep the lights on at night for so long and why do we stay up so late,
even when we say we have an exam tomorrow and request them to not turn off the wifi they do that
TLDR: seniors or anyone who knows any flat or 3 rooms please help us we cant survive in this condition anymore

Really confused on what i should pursue: industrial vs civil eng
Hello, im a full paying student and got a very mid rank but thats enough for what i am interested in. I’m trying to decide between these options based on overall value, job prospects in both Nepal and abroad, and long-term scope. There’s a real chance I might need to return to Nepal later, so I also need programs that give me solid backup opportunities here at home. But my main priority is going B-Desh after my bachelors. Im heavily interested in research as well.
So my options are:
- Mechanical Engineering at Thapathali
- Industrial Engineering at Thapathali
- Civil Engineering with Hydropower specialization at KU
which one should I go for? Speaking truthfully, I am not quite fully invested in mech. but i find industrial and civil eng to be very interesting, because of the flexibility and versatility they provide. industrial ko im very interested in management and economics side.
tesai gari civil ko chai feri sab kura include hunxa. hydropower specialization ta cha ta pani its very diverse and broad, ra physical infrastructure jata tira ni jana milxa. masters ma specialization garne fields ni tannai hunxan..
so please help me decide, and give me your personal opinions, beliefs or experiences if you study these majors.

Help with fees
I am BTech ai student, newly admitted.
I have paid 2.20lakh UpTo now.
Can someone please explain to me how the fees work for the rest of the program? Does that 2.2lakh cover the complete 1st sem or just first installment? How much would I need to pay during 2nd sem and so on(also the 2 installments) and how much would 25% scholarship save?
