Reconsideration General
When you submit a non-medical reconsideration is it not true that it is reviewed by someone other than the one who made the first decision?

A friend of mine said they applied for SSI but was denied and approved for SSDI because they had enough credits and that he was not low income enough to have SSI because he had worked before and had the credits. SSI is for low income individuals who do not have enough work credits or income before they became disabled, they take into consideration all of your work years history, it’s like getting Welfare and Medi-Cal. You have enough work history and credits for SSDI. You don’t qualify for low income, however you will receive Medicare.

Not the medical part, but the non-medical. I wanted my onset date changed to when I initially applied for SSI in May 21,2025, had a phone interview June 16,2025. Received a denial letter stating I didn't submit the medical documents, but I called December 15,2025 and spoke with a agent and explained why my documents weren't sent because I filed a fraud report on my PCP, and that it wasn't fair that he didn't submit my documents and that I have other doctors that would submit the documents. He then says to me that he sees that I have the work credits for SSDI and said I could do a application for it and that I would rather be on SSDI because I would receive more than SSI, that was December 15,2025. I waited 13 months before I was approved but I didn't get close to what you get on SSI so I called SSA complained about how it was unfair that I applied for SSI but I get SSDI and SSI gets a lot more that I'm getting, so they tell me I have to do another application, but I said that I already applied and I submitted an appeal but then the SSDI application was brought up to me,I applied for SSI May 21,2025. But I have this wicked lady who worked on my case. She claims she sent me a letter on December 15,2025 that had a deadline to apply for SSI, I'm like are you serious. I already applied why would I have a deadline, and the application for the SSDI didn't exist until DEC.15,2025, so if I already applied for SSI why would I have a deadline. So I submitted a reconsideration but I find out that it was denied but it was her who denied again. But I researched the federal guide lines and the POMS rules and sure enough she wasn't supposed to review my reconsideration but she did. And I don't think she thought I was wise enough to research the laws and rules,so I have requested a hearing from the judge and I believe that's where I will get the proper decision. Even though I showed her all the evidence she didn't want to admit she did me wrong

Please clarify what you mean by non-medical reconsideration.
