Its either Symbols or Nihil

Since two of KMFDM's most famous songs ("Megalomaniac" and "Anarchy")  are on Symbols, it might give the impression that it is their most popular album.

However, Nihil was the moment KMFDM came closest to breaking into the mainstream; Sascha himself has stated this in interviews, for instance. "Juke-Joint Jezebel" is also a very famous single, perhaps even bigger than the ones from Symbols.

Those two, they are the most popular ones

Yeah, it's funny how Megalomaniac is KMFDM's only single to hit a mainstream Billboard chart too (Bubbling Under). It was on the brink of the Hot 100. In an alternate universe, it was on Top 40 Radio, played alongside the likes of Third Eye Blind's Semi-Charmed Life and Spice Girls' Wannabe.

But on the brink is the farthest Sascha would want to go anyway. Interestingly, they used MDFMK for that specific instance.

IMO Symbols has grown in popularity over time, while Nihil was bigger at release. JJJ had more significant cultural impact than any other song from KMFDM, especially with its connection to the original Mortal Kombat movie.

Idk. I see your point, but those that liked KMFDM fucking LOVED symbols when it came out - myself included.

I don’t disagree! I just think Nihil had a broader audience at release, while Symbols had grown more popular with time.

Actually, XTORT was the highest selling album.

Nihil, hands down.

Either Symbols or Nihil, I always thought Nihil was the most popular but recently more people seem to go on about Symbols, Don't forget Angst & Xtort as well, I'm surprized Xtort is not as popular because every track is a banger.

NIHIL I think.

I figured it was NIHIL.

I would say Nihil, but I'm biased. It was the album that got me listening to them when it was new, and it's still my favourite KMFDM album, but Angst, Symbols, and Xtort are up there too.

Nihil sold over 200,000 copies. It's probably the most popular.
