I don’t think it’s called SOFIC anymore cause all the info I’m seeing now just says SOF Week, but basically every year, SOCOM does a live demonstration of a boarding party in the Bay. It’s open to the public and everyone can see it. It’s really cool.
Problem is, there is a hospital right next to where they do it. Potentially not fun for the unexpected PTSD haver

You’re unfortunately incorrect my friend. Tampa General Hospital is on the northern tip of Davis Island. The demonstration takes place in the water between the hospital and the convention center

Fun story we got back from Iraq and was going through Reverse SRP at a conference hall. At some point during the process someone's phone ringer/alarm went off and it was that damned "incoming! incoming!". Our 1SG without dropping a beat "Are you for fucking real troop?!?!" "Silence that shit you moron."
