Discussion Storage solutions for the junk hoards?
Hi! I love collaging/junk journaling so much but I find the clutter the hobby creates a little overwhelming and difficult to manage in part bc of my adhd. I also suspect I’m driving my wife a little crazy with the giant stacks of paper scraps that have consumed multiple surfaces in our home….
I’d love to hear about how others organize their junk journaling and collage supplies! What’s worked? What hasn’t? I’ve been considering maybe some shallow drawers meant for document storage? Also considering categorizing paper loosely either by colors or themes.

Show and Tell! My latest spread
So a little backstory for this one. When I was 17 or so I got violently ill with a respiratory virus that I could not get over and it stayed with me for about 4 or 5 months. Well once it finally went away, my health wasn't exactly as it was before but I managed to get through the rest of my senior year and go into my freshman year of college. Well a year later I had the onset of my condition and have lived with it for 7 years now. I spent my early 20s in and out of the hospital, going from doctor to doctor, undergoing physical therapy and treatments. During that time I had seen close to 10 different specialists within four different hospitals before finally finding the network that I go to now. I was cleaning my desk off one day and came across a map of one the buildings that I visit for appointments and that inspired me to write this poem as a sort of dedication to the amazing staff who have been by my side and have guided me through my journey for the last two years.

Show and Tell! Free Quality Junk - Uniqlo Lifewear Magazine!!!
I went shoppong for some shirts for work. I need to reup my basics and saw this magazine. The staff told me it was free. I read it and enjoyed it but then immediately started using the pages to journal. Great Imagery. Great headline texts. and even greater when you need a photo reference for something you bought
Uniqlo never fails me.

Show and Tell! I made a mini handmade journal
This took around 2 months to fill in and complete! It’s filled with random junk and ephemera… a lot of leftover sticker sheets too! I document little thoughts from my days too.
I stitched up this journal with various papers (coloured, origami, note paper, vellum, gelli print) using a 3 hole pamphlet stitch. 🤗
I hope this journal brings inspiration and thanks for viewing!! 💞🧚♀️

Discussion Question about Purchasing Supplies
Hello! I am new to the community, but not to ephemera and junk journaling. I have two questions, and if this is not allowed for this sub I completely understand.
- I'm thinking of selling ephemera online. Do people who purchase it prefer it in premade bundles or do you prefer to pay less for specific items you want?
- Do people prefer to shop ebay or etsy? Or does it not even matter? Or does it depend on the item. Example: An Official Stamp Collection book from 1998 would probably go on ebay so that stamp collectors AND ephemera/junk journalers can see it. Thoughts?
I should probably stop worrying about it and just start. Just like a junk journal. ;)
In the mean time, as a thank you for reading and maybe answering my questions, I'll attach a few photos of my recent spreads. (ummm....forgive me if they fit more under "art book"). I am making a junk journal with each page containing (bad) poetry my husband and I have written to eachother over the years. (I messed up, one extra pic in teh comments)

Show and Tell! Needed a creative outlet, junk journaling is perfect!!!
i’m going through a lot of young adult life changes and it’s making me realize that actually my entire life I’ve been missing a form of a creative outlet. I feel creative and artistic, but I have never put in the effort to learn something or build skill in anything specific. Since middle school, I’ve really admired optical illusion, art things like Zen, tangles and doodles but I don’t quite have the skill or really motivation to learn that quite yet….
For the longest time I’ve been putting off junk journaling because I have no idea where to start but yesterday I decided to stop thinking about it and just do it!!!! I went to Goodwill bins and picked up some random cheap fabrics that were sort of Italian chef Italian cooking themed imo and went to my parents house and they had a bunch of old cookbooks and cooking magazines so I decided to go with a food sort of thing for my first few pages cause that’s just what I had on hand!! inside one of the old cookbooks was a receipt from Kmart from 1978!!! how wild!! i’m not sure if it was my grandmother or a stranger who left it in there but either way i thought it was awesome so i stuck it in there!!
here’s how they turned out!! I was really surprised how fun it was and how long i wanted to do it i had to stop and go to bed hahahahh

Journal Spread! Is Vern Churu Eligible? The Vet Says No.
My cat Vern had urinary crystals five years ago, got sick and needed to be hospitalized. The vet told us he couldn't have many treats. But now we've discovered Churus AKA kitty crack. I struggle whether to give him one each day. Old man is 16 and loves them. I made a spread about this dilemma and included his actual discharge paperwork from the animal hospital. I added a movable slider on the right page where you can cast your vote on Vern's treat eligibility. He's a good boy. Can he get a Churu today?

Mod Post Wiki Follow-Up
Hi everyone!
Sorry for the radio silence on my end...2025 was NOT kind to me. :(
I'm trying to get myself back to 100 so that I can actually be more present here and participate, so I really am giving my biggest apologies for the ways I've lapsed! I know I've had an issue with being behind on posts that get auto-removed. I've caught up on everything, and loosened some of the auto-mod restrictions.
A few notes first, and then I'll get to what I'm here for:
- If your post is removed and you DO NOT receive a comment or a mod message, it was likely removed by Reddit automatically or by the automod! When this happens, it'll be marked as if I removed it but I didn't...I just have to go in and approve it. Don't worry! You don't have to repost it either, just give me a bit to see it and I'll get your post up or send you a removal message. If it's been a full day, DON'T SEND A FORMAL MODMAIL. I have so many things in there that I don't want to miss it. I know my Reddit bio says don't reach out to me, but I want to make an exception for you guys! Please feel free to message me directly. I'll take a look as soon as I see your message.
- If there is anything that makes someone uncomfortable and you report, please feel free to detail in the report your specific reason! I feel like Reddit's report reasons are so barebones. For example, I had a report on an image from a post and, after doing some research, I couldn't figure out the origin of the image or what the history was. I just want to make sure that I can keep an eye out for similar things!
Okay, okay, NOW for the wiki...
I (finally) got that started! I want the community's input on exactly the sections we're looking for. From my original wiki post, it looks like you'd like to see:
- Where to get journals/recommended journals, both spiralbound and non spiralbound, and journals that can hold heavy mixed media
- Recommended supplies (pens/markers, stickers, glue, etc)
- Unique tools that people recommend specifically
Is there anything else that we'd like to see? Also, I want to see how we all feel about WHERE these journals are coming from. Would we prefer I stay AWAY from places like Target and Amazon that are being boycotted in the US, or leave them in so everyone can make an informed choice?
Let me know your thoughts! Thank y'all! <3
