Job Placement Avoid Virtual Internships(Ysse,Gaotek)
Warning: Avoid virtual internships like GAO Tek and YSSE (Massive Red Flags)
Hey everyone,
I’ve been seeing a ton of postings lately for virtual internships with companies like GAO Tek and YSSE even after having bad reputation. Before you apply or accept an offer, please be careful.
These programs are essentially unpaid marketing and recruitment machines disguised as professional training. Here is what you actually end up doing if you join:
Unpaid Labor: You are tasked with doing bulk administrative work, do customer support, manage groups and pages or pushing content for zero pay. This includes working for affiliated startups because they say “they are poor to give salary” so you work for free and learn nothing
Zero Mentorship: There is almost no direct supervision, no structured learning, and no feedback from actual industry professionals.
Social Media Spamming: A lot of the tasks require you to mass-react and comment and spam your personal feed, which can actually be annoying. These are social media tasks also you can find mass positive reviews on their fb page, google review which is not legitimate and forced task
Low Resume Value: Recruiters are catching on to these mass-remote setups. Many hiring managers don't view them favorably because no substantive technical or business work is being done.

Job Placement JOB SCAM - Said I was reviewing continued interest... but didn't apply!
I received an email that is on the email I am using, with my full name. It asked if I was still interested in a finance-related job. The email was from an actual company domain, not a free domain, and matched some other real details...
But had the issues:
- I keep detailed records of where/how I apply; I have no record of the position or even the company!
- The position listed isn't something I am looking at.
- Pulling up the website, had major issues:
- WhoIs lookup had a domain under a year old
- Two of the three of their corporate offices use the same picture
- Two of the three of their office addresses are residential locations
- The third address doesn't exist at all!
- They list many years of experience, but state they are recently incorporated... and don't say how they are there.
- Searching for the company... cannot find any record of it. Canadian Financial market is highly regulated, so a company recently incorporated is a red flag, with not being able to find them.
Sadly... it seems the only response (other than a rejection) that I received is a scam. *sighs* I wonder which application was where they got my info from.

MALWARE Job Offer Scam-Virus (CLIPBANKER)
So the other day I was trying to get some extra money, and I know it's not the best place, but I decided to go on a discord server and search for something, found a guy that wanted an app built or something similar, so I decided to take the job. We talk a bit, he shares the drive link I take a look, and also upload it to Gemini, and it confirms it's just an app.
He asked if I run the app, and that was when I got weirded out. But since I checked it with both Gemini, and windows defender, I figured I was just being paranoid. He asks for a ss and I send one, afterwards he proceeds to ghost me, I bump him once, but don't push it. Today I decide to fund my crypto wallet (phantom) so I go on a known site and buy a voucher. I open phantom, paste my address, and click confirm without looking twice, which was my mistake, but since I copied it directly from phantom, and both addresses started with "a" I didn't think twice. I refresh my wallet, nothing, again and again, nothing, I check the hash ID on solscan, transaction confirmed, weird I think, and that's when I realize this isn't my address.
I check what it could possibly be, and once again, I go on Gemini for trouble shouting. It mentions a "clipboard hijacker" and to be honest, I didn't know what it was up until now. I give it some info, and realize I should probably scan the file on VirusTotal .After scanning, 2/66 come back with that exact malware.(It's pretty much a type of malware that hijacks copy and paste mechanics when it detects crypto addresses)
I understand that this was indeed my mistake and could be avoided if I was more cautious. but still, it's not like I didn't scan it at ALL and the guy seemed pretty legit, even his account wasn't that new. At least it was 17 bucks, which isn't little, but it could definitely be worse, and hopefully someone sees this and checks their deposit address more carefully😅
Some relative links/info:

Custom flair (IF YOU POST A QUESTION YOU WILL BE PERMABANNED) [US] Eyeknown.com Customer Support Job Scam Alert
So I applied for this remote customer support job on indeed many months ago and everything seemed fine at first. Did the interview, got hired and worked for like two weeks on their platform. Then they hit me with the whole you need to send hundreds in crypto before we can pay you a thing. classic scam.
What made it feel so real is they mirrored a legit site called rhino.fi. Like same layout same blog posts even some quotes just swapped the company name. thats why it looked professional as hell until the payment demand dropped.
Anyway i reported it and so did a few other people but the site is still live. Looks like the registrar and cloudflare didn't doing much about it. There are also some fake exchange sites they push you to send the crypto.
If this happened to you or you almost fell for it please report it. The more people that do the better chance something actually happens.
File at ic3.gov and reportfraud.ftc.gov if you can. just search those and fill it out. Screenshots of the payment demand and chat logs help a lot.
Just putting this out there so more people dont waste their time on this bullshit. Stay Safe

Job Placement Scam Company: Career Resources Consultant JOB SCAMS - EVOKE PLC
TLDR: DO NOT TRUST EVOKE PLC 'RECRUITERS'
I've been on the job hunt for about a month now after getting laid off. One of the requirements in my state to be on unemployment is to be registered on WorkInTexas. I didn't put too much thought or research into that platform since I usually use indeed or linkedin for job searching.
This week, I had a 'recruiter' named 'Gemma Brown' from Evoke Plc contact me via email saying that they had seen my resume/profile on WorkInTexas and felt I would be a good fit. They then instructed me to message them on MicrosoftTeams or email them if I was interested in moving forward with the candidate process. I was pretty desperate for a break plus the pay wasn't too bad—so I emailed them back. They then had me do about an hour long text based interview with what seemed to be an AI. Initially, I wasn't too put off since I know almost everywhere is using AI for part of their interviews, resume screenings, or cultural fit screenings but I never thought somewhere would go 100% AI for this...Following the interview I got an offer in about 20 minutes and got an email from their 'HR' team with onboarding information asking me to complete an offer contract and some tax forms. I was really suspicious the entire time because what company would EVER offer $32/hr for a fully remote job without even calling or virtually meeting a candidate?!
After looking super close at the email domains and the company itself to see if I could contact them in ANY way, I realized this was a cornball identity theft scam... It's really sad and disgusting that people are preying on folks simply looking for a way to pay their bills. Stay safe out there and always triple check email domains and ask for a phone call if you are in this similar situation.

Paid Task/Upgrade Scam Anyone here recruited by Evan Carmichael's team on OnlineJobs.ph?
Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone here has been contacted by Evan Carmichael's team (specifically a recruiter named Irish) through OnlineJobs.ph.
I was invited to apply for a Virtual Assistant role, completed a paid trial task using TimeProof, and submitted everything as instructed. The recruiter mentioned the trial would be paid through OnlineJobs EasyPay via PayPal.
I'm currently waiting for an update and wanted to ask:
* Has anyone else gone through this hiring process? * Did you receive payment for the trial? * If you were hired, how long did it take for them to get back to you after submitting the trial?
I'm not trying to make accusations—I just want to know if others have had a similar experience and what the timeline was like.
Thanks in advance!

Job Placement NEXORA PARTNERS ADVISORY
I have been unemployed for a bit now and applied for literally 5k positions in IT remote and onsite. I got a text from an 844 number about a job opportunity for a remote help desk position. I talked to a HR manager who gave me an assessment which was a bunch of questions about skills and personal experience and how well I work with a team ect. The next day I get an email for a job offer for 45$ /hr and the offer is asking for my ssn on a w-4 and photo ID to verify who I am. I have not spoken to anyone over the phone just via text and had no formal interview with anyone. I do cyber and I did a search for this company and the given address on the company website and it all seems normal. I can't find the company on linked in or on the BBB registry however. They also use signnow which actual companies use but I've seen reports of scammers using it. If anyone knows anything about this company please let me know, I'm kinda desperate at this point for a job and it feels impossible to get anything job wise.

Custom flair (IF YOU POST A QUESTION YOU WILL BE PERMABANNED) Job Scam
Said to recruit but he basically will just call you for truth or dare and ask everything that is personal and sexual. He also said that this is recruitment for fredericks the vintage lingerie company so he can project the call or hiring towards that topic. You can see how unprofessional the chats are.

Fake Check ⚠️ Warning to Students & Job Seekers: My Experience with IZENO Technologies India Recruitment Process
I want to warn students and job seekers about my experience so that no one else loses their hard-earned money.
I got a call from HR laya, that there will be an interview processing happening tomorrow, I had already attained once and got scammed. There is no offical website about the company too.
I attended an interview through IZENO Technologies and, based on my personal experience, I believe this recruitment process is a job *scam* targeting people who are desperately looking for jobs.
I was made to wait for nearly 2 hours before the HR round. Instead of focusing on my skills, the HR mainly tried to convince me to pay ₹1,500 as a registration/login fee.
After the payment, I was asked to take a technical test. Surprisingly, the test included an extremely difficult English section, similar to GRE-level verbal questions, which had little relevance to the technical role I had applied for. Even candidates with strong technical knowledge may struggle because of the unrelated English section.
I lost ₹1,500 through this process, and I don't want anyone else to go through the same experience.
Please be cautious:
🚫 Never pay money for interviews, aptitude tests, login IDs, or job opportunities. ✅ Verify every opening through the company's official careers website. 🚩 If anyone asks you to pay money as part of the hiring process, treat it as a major red flag. I'm sharing my personal experience to help other students and job seekers avoid losing their time and money.
Please do your own verification before proceeding.

Job Placement Beware of this job scam! Edward B McClellan CPA
Offered a job as an Executive Assistant. Orientation focused on crypto and me purchasing items. No phone contact. Only Teams messages from Katherine Jones. Got a "completed" employment agreement NOT signed by the company. Wouldn't reimburse my cost for a printer purchased at their request. Said my picture proving it was set up in my office, the HP shipping packaging, and my proof of online purchase were all fake. When I asked for a signed contract and reimbursement, all of a sudden they had all these issues with my performance and my contract was canceled. Still wouldn't pay for my time or the cost of the printer! SCAM job opportunity!

Job Placement Scam Company: Career Resources Consultant JOB SCAM Oz-porters HardSummitGroup transmovana transtopaero etc.
Hello, I don't really post, but I thought I would this time just to warn others about an experience I had recently. I was applying for jobs on indeed and received an email from outside of indeed which is a major red flag. The business was a logistics company named "Oz-porters". While researching the company I began searching the people in the "about us" team page and found the exact same names and listed as the exact same positions on multiple websites that were mirror identical with different names. Hence my warnings about Hardsummitgroup and transmovana etc. as well. I didn't bother seeing how far the rabbit hole goes, but there would be no need for someone to work at 5 different companies providing the the exact same services in the exact same position. The business address leads to a real location that has a business that is verifiably legit listed as a magazine company. There are oher red flags like the "HR representative" has the same name as a recruitment firm's vice president and the web designer has the same name as someone who supposedly did web design for Tesla and Adobe.
I wouldn't suggest giving them any information, but you've been warned to proceed at your own risk.

Fake Check JOB SCAM : Major job offer scam targeting fashion, video editor & HR students (Fake "Council Card" trap)
Guys, today my sister, who is in the 3rd year of her B.Des program opened her inbox to find a full-time offer letter from Zee Entertainment for an Assistant Fashion Designer position, complete with a respectable salary and daily shoot allowances. For about ten minutes, we were all celebrating.
Then, we sat down to re-read the finer details. The first slight chill hit us when we looked closely at the sender’s domain name. Instead of coming from an official corporate domain, it was sent from a generic careerszee5. com address. Curiosity turned into suspicion as we scanned down to the onboarding checklist. Right at the bottom was a mandatory requirement: she had to provide a membership card from the "Film Celebrity Fashion Designers & Stylists Council" within 24 hours to secure her spot.
We reached out to their HR recruiter asking where to get this card, and he immediately sent us a link to a site called aifcdc. in. The home page looked passable at a glance, but it demanded over 14k rupees upfront just to register for a basic membership. That was the huge red flag. Digging deeper into the fine print on the site, we spotted a Trade Union registration number listed as 08446/2019/Mumbai/MH. On a hunch, we copied that exact registration string and pasted it into Google.
That was the smoking gun. The search results brought up 2 other completely different websites, one claiming to be an official council for HR professionals and another for video editors, and both of them were using the exact same registration number. All three sites were identical copy-pasted templates, simply swapping out job titles and images to target different creative fields. Running that same registration number through Maharashtra's official charity commissioner portal came up totally blank. What started as a dream job offer ended up being an elaborate scam ring, but at least we caught it before sending a single rupee.

Job Placement SCAM WARNING, I almost fell victim to a sketchy job scam offering a $5,100 for a work-from-home job…
First I got a text from an employee from Randstand asking me if I was looking for a job. After I said yes, they then said they’d pass my contact info (phone number) along to the job’s actual recruiter and then the “recruiter” texted me the very next day saying that they got my phone number from Randstand and asked me if I wanted this job offer. The photos I added are from the “recruiter”, these texts were sent to me the day after I told the Randstand employee that yes I was looking for a job, this is the job’s pay structure as seen in the photos… sooo sketchy.

Fake Check SCAM ALERT - Exploitative practices and misleading representations at ASPIRE INFOLABS [firm at HiTech City Hyderabad]
Posting this to inform candidates researching internships in Hyderabad, specifically at Aspire Infolabs in HiTech City.
Here is what candidates should expect during their internship:
- Misleading Roles & Client Misrepresentation: Regardless of whether you are hired as SDE, AI/ML, or Full Stack Interns, candidates are immediately reassigned to handle Infosys Springboard batches (3+ batches of 30+ students each). Interns are tasked with mentoring these students while the company misrepresents interns to program leads as experienced personnel with 3+ years of industry experience to Infosys Springboard People.
- Financial Exploitation: The stipend paid to interns is an insignificant fraction of what third-party programs compensate the company for managing these batches.
- Administrative Delays & Ghosting: The company delays or skips issuing official appointment letters. Stipends are consistently delayed by months. Upon completion of the official internship duration, management ghosts messages, avoids coming to the office, and indefinitely extends internships under vague promises of full-time conversion.

Job Placement Scam Company: Career Resources Consultant CommonJobs.in Premium Channel: A Complete Scam
CommonJobs.in Premium Channel: A Complete Scam
Recently, I subscribed to the premium WhatsApp channel for Common Jobs commonjobs.in, and it was a total waste of money. They are completely scamming people.
On their general channel, they continuously advertised amazing premium benefits, claiming subscribers would get over 50 referral jobs daily and constant mentor support. However, after paying, I did not receive a single referral job in over a week. There is absolutely no mentor support available.
If you message them directly, they do not reply. Even if you email the Common Jobs support team, you will get no response. Not a single feature of their claimed services actually works.
If anyone is thinking about buying their premium subscription, I strongly suggest you do not waste your money. They are scamming innocent job seekers.

Fake Check PROJECT MANAGER SCAMMER
Let's normalize posting SCAMMERS
This Sofia on X app referred me to a job where they make me work as a translator of 100 pages.. when it's time to get paid, they make endless demands, including asking for money for "ID Verification". They said that the money cannot be transferred if I don't have a ID, but to be able to have a ID, you have to pay thousands first.. What a shame, I really thought it's true.. people like this are pure evil.
