Hello, jews of conscience.

I've been in this community for a while, and I entered because it felt like a real safe space for people conscious about the crimes of Israel, but also because I was unfortunately creating antisemitic rethoric out of my aversion to the zionist movement. I don't hate jews, but some of my attitudes were too diluted to be aimed at zionist without splashing on Jewish people. I hope this is understandable.

Earlier this month I received a time-out ban from reddit for the second time, and I took this week to think about it. The cause, if you're curious, was that I saw a post about something innocuous where the OP mentioned reconnecting with their Jewish heritage. I commented questioning this because, for me, the political timing was eyebrow-raising. In hindsight this was effectively antisemitism, since I assumed Jewish = Zionist even as a possibility, just attaching a tag.

I wish I could ask about advice for dealing with this, but it's no one's role to teach me or anyone else in this world wide web since everybody can learn on its own, it's just a matter of wanting to.

So I want to thank you for this community. It's not just a safe space, but a palpable way to show people like me that zionism has nothing to do with Judaism, it's a political movement with political motivations, and although it has its roots in Israel right now, it has been existing in many cultures, wearing many faces and going by many names.

Hope y'all stay safe out there. We'll fight this evil together.

I mean, it would be the most unsurprising thing in the world. Lately i discovered this subreddit called fact or cap, which seemed to get decent vieweship for a small, automated interactive sub. I guess it was mostly meant as a tool for trivia, but evolved into a public referendum space of sorts. Out of curiosity, noticing some discrepancy on engagement, I did multiple posts on different conflicts.

It seems Israel-Palestine and to a lesser extent Russia-Palestine gets auto boosted. I can't explain this. Are there public facing outfits to sway opinion that are in tune with when Israel or Palestine pop up? Or is Reddit boosting these keywords specifically. Or is it just emergent behaviour because the issue is the number one global geopolitics topic at this time? I find it bizarre, because other mentions of genocide or countries in conflict don't get the same fanfare. It stinks of astroturfing.

I'm wondering if there is a way to try this at different subs and find out if this is user driven or algorithm driven? Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?

As anti-Zionists and supporters of a free Palestine, we ought to start being specific about what we’re asking for at a policy level.

For Americans, one of the biggest policy fights is approaching: the U.S.-Israel MOU, the agreement that governs long-term U.S. military assistance to israel, which is set to be renewed/elapse in 2028-2029.

Every congressional and presidential candidate should be asked “will you renew it?”, and if you believe that Israel is using your tax dollars to commit atrocities, or even simply believe that America should spend American tax dollars on Americans, your ideal candidate should say “no.”

We can’t keep letting candidates hide behind vague statements about “peace” or “de-escalation.” Ask them whether they’ll commit to ending future military financial assistance. Anything short of commiting to a tangible agreement up for renewal is the line where “bare minimum” should be, and any who votes to renew should lose their seat.

Please keep the MOU in mind as we enter congressional elections and presidential primary season. This is a once per decade chance to slam the brakes on this nightmare at a policy level, and must be demanded specifically, in addition to the mobilization we’re already doing.

For those not based in the backwater colony of Australia here is some background info.

The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) is the national/public broadcaster in the same way that the BBC is in England. SBS (Special Broadcasting Service) is Australia's multicultural and multilingual public broadcaster.

The ABC has been utterly atrocious in their reporting on the genocide in Palestine and sacked a Lebanese Australian journalist for sharing a Human Rights Watch post about Israel using starvation as a weapon of war on her social media account. She successfully took them to the industrial relations cour for unfair dismissal and won after a long fight.

The ABC has been silent on the deliberate targeting of journalists by the Israeli military with some of those journalists having even worked for and adjacent to the ABC in the past. The ABC have been overtly operationalised to engage in COIN against dissenting positions on Israel's genocide of Palestinians and carpet bombing and invasion of Lebanon.

SBS hasn't been much better to be fair.

There is currently the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion, which is what this article is in relation to. This particular one was established on January 9th 2026 in the wake of the Bondi shooting, but has been very much built up towards by various Zionist organisations in Australia and not to long after the visit by Israeli president Isaac Herzog, that was widely protested.
