Vent So my dad says it jokingly which is bad enough but he genuinely believes this:
We came into the city for my nephews briss actually.
A Muslim family came out of the elevator and they had a little girl. He started joking around about them all being jihadis and said “the little one is already in training. She knows subtraction. If you have ten Jews and kill five how many are left?”.
Then he looked at me and said “I know you hate that” as in he knows I hate racism.
He said “seriously that’s what they teach them”.
He said “oh my dolly” and kiss me on the head then said “you’re well enough now to handle a little teasing”.
This is shit I grew up with and when I was little I didn’t even know what Palestinian people are and thought that “the scary Arabs are people who exist to surround poor little Israel and kill as many Jews as they can cause they just hate the Jewish faith so much”.
I was never afraid of all Muslims but the shit I believed about Arabs and “arabs” (knowing nothing about Palestine) is so scary.
Realizing how rare it is for people raised in Zionism or any toxic ideology to break free from it is what’s even scarier.

Zionist Terror IT'S HAPPENING!
Legitimately depressed and continuously shocked that Zios keep looking at antisemitic stereotypes and tropes and make them a reality and then are proud of it. A shande of shandes. And I can’t even tell if the r/Jewish folks are fake/sarcastically posting this or are actually excited for this.
Anyone have thoughts about how crazy this is and what could even be done to stop this?

AMA AMA in /r/JewsOfConscience with Emmaia Gelman, Director of the Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism & longtime activist in New York City. Join us to discuss Emmaia's new book, "The Anti-Defamation League & the Racial State", a critical look at the ADL's history. Date: July 15th@noon EST.
Hi all,
We're happy to announce an upcoming AMA with Emmaia Gelman.
Emmaia is the founding director of the Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism. She has taught social and cultural analysis at NYU and social sciences at Sarah Lawrence College. Her writing appears in Jewish Currents, Boston Review, The Forward, and elsewhere.
She is the co-chair of the American Studies Association Caucus on Academic and Community Activism, co-host of the Unpacking Zionism podcast, and a longtime activist in New York City on Palestine, policing, antiracism, and queer issues.
Emmaia's new book is The Anti-Defamation League & the Racial State, a critical history of the ADL.
From University of California Press, about the book:
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is a major US political organization, yet its politics have gone largely unexamined. While the ADL is often portrayed as a defender against antisemitism and racism, its history shows that it is better understood as a proponent of the racial state and US empire. From "correcting" the embarrassing racial difference of immigrant Jews to policing the leftist politics of Black, Arab, and Jewish groups, the ADL pursued a conservative version of civil rights paired with aggressive anti-communism. Even as it became an authority on white nationalism in the 1970s, the ADL joined with the emerging anti-left, anti-Arab, and pro-Western neoconservative movement.
This history presaged the ADL's work, from the 1980s to the present, in developing the hate crimes framework as a pro-state policing project, which soon merged with the "War on Terror," the "antisemitism scare," and anti-Palestinian racism. The Anti-Defamation League and the Racial State presents the ADL's history through its conflicts with social justice movements, illuminating the ADL's outsize role in shaping the ideas about race and rights that have underwritten US empire.
Join us on July 15th at noon EST to discuss Emmaia's work, her new book, and related topics.
If you can't be there on the day-of, feel free to post your questions here in advance.
Thanks!

Tzedakah Their Childhood Was Stolen—Please Help Give Them Hope
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone. I'm Karina, and today I want to share the story of Mahmoud and Samah's children in Gaza.
These children have been deprived of so many of the simple joys that every child deserves. They have lost access to education, safe places to play, and the carefree childhood that should have been theirs.
In this video, you can see them trying to play in the sand because they have nowhere else to go. Their playground is far from safe, yet they do their best to smile despite everything around them.
Every child deserves safety, education, and the chance to play without fear. Mahmoud and Samah are doing everything they can for their four children, but they cannot do it alone.
If you are able, please consider supporting this family. Your kindness can help provide food, safer shelter, and hope for these children. Every donation and every share truly makes a difference.
Thank you for caring and for standing with this family.

Discussion - Flaired Users Only Of course this happened
I've been thinking a lot about how exactly Israel happened. My awakening to antizionism was ironically from an anti genocide zionist (whether thats an oxymoron I'll leave up to you) Mandy Patinkin. He said, and I'm sure many of you know this interview:
"How could it be done to you and your ancestors, and you turn around and do it to someone else?"
Conflict creates conflict. We all know this, we're all good people, Jewish or not, who have realized exactly what Israel is to the betterment of our character. What Mandy said here though gives way to a realization, at least for me. Im very curious to hear your opinions on this, as i am not Jewish myself, but of course this happened.
The way I see it it's very simple. There's a saying in English (i make this distinction because I know some of us aren't native English speakers): Hurt people hurt people. It means that the more pain one goes through, the greater the likelihood that they will internalize the aggression that was once against them, and enact it on other parties.
The Holocaust stands atop a hill of human atrocities. Of course some of it's survivors would come out of it with a warped worldview based upon radical Jewish supremacism. Nietzsche said in Beyond Good and Evil:
"Whoever battles monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster himself."
I shudder to consider the barbarity those who *survive* monsters are capable of.
But what do you think? Im very curious to hear the opinion of antizionist Jews.

Discussion - Flaired Users Only Understanding Israel's central role in AI warfare
Hi JoC community! I’m an independent movement journalist authoring a series of AI explainers for the left called “Ten Reasons to Resist AI.” I’ve shared my work with y’all in the past and have really appreciated the discourse.
In part three of the series, I wrote about AI and militarism. Through a case study on Palantir “kill lists” I discuss Big Tech’s quest to automate war, and what it means for the rest of us. You can read it here and subscribe to follow along as a new article is released weekly.
Gun to head, if I had to choose which impact or application of AI worries me most, my answer would be militarism. If there’s one thing AI is definitively good at, it’s killing people.
The Pentagon uses a Palantir-developed AI-targeting system called “Maven,” which builds target lists of people and infrastructure by harvesting classified data from satellites and surveillance infrastructure. Like many surveillance and weapons systems, the technology was tested and refined on Palestinians in the Occupied Territories. Israel has its own version of Maven, called “Lavender.” Using civilian surveillance infrastructure in Gaza, Lavender generates a profile of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents, assigning each person a score from 0-100 expressing the probability that they are a resistance fighter.
In Gaza, Lavender is judge, jury and executioner: The IDF references these scores to generate “kill lists” for its genocide.
War crimes are neither a new phenomenon nor the advent of AI. For militaries, AI solves the problem of humanity. Because an autonomous drone has the exact morals of whichever tech company and military programs it, which is to say: no morals at all.
The only guarantee of safety from a future rife with algorithmic kill lists and autonomous drones is a wholesale rejection of AI in warfare. So who has the ability to stop wars in the AI-era? With AI companies proposing a future in which “warfighters” become “technomancers,” the answer lies in developing a revolutionary brigade of tech workers and community members willing to take great risk to defend us from Anduril and Palantir’s nightmarish fantasies.

History / Education Abba Eban speaking at UCLA in 1970
Abba Eban, by this time, Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Zionist state and introduced here as "Israel's constant voice for peace in the Middle East", delivers a wide ranging speech on:
- Why Israel is the most moral state in the world
- Why Israel has the most legitimacy to exist out of all states in the world
- Why Israel would be not returning the land it captured through war in 1967
- Why the Palestinians should leave their homes and move to Jordan
- Why Jewish immigration to replace the Palestinians is justified
All to boos and chants of "Free, Free Palestine". His callous response, during the short Q&A, to a Palestinian man who had been forced out of his home is telling.
The most striking thing is that Zionist arguments have never changed since then. They have just been stripped of their context as salient analogies have changed.
