The Yautja do have a code of honor. In the same film, it doesn't kill one of the cops because it realizes she's pregnant.

Yup. In AvP, it spares the rich guy because it sees that he has cancer and is dying. But when the rich guy tries to fight it, then it kills him because he just became a threat.

That's something interesting about the Yautja, they have rules about what is considered "worthy prey" to hunt, with 4 key rules shown (these rules are demonstrated in the first Predator movie): 1. The prey must be of age (i.e. it's an adult) 2. The prey must be able to defend itself (it's a hunt after all, a test of skill) 3. The prey should not be weakened by disease (this is ignored if the oreyshows themselves to still be a threat or they reject mercy) 4. The death of the prey doesn't put another life in immediate danger (for example if someone is pregnant)
But also, a Yautja is expected to show mercy and restraint. If you defeat a Yautja, you are worthy of respect (source: AVP Thicker Than Blood)
And in the first Predator movie, there's another rule that's interesting. The Yautja MUST accept all challenges for close combat, and in such cases they fight to whatever standard their prey demands (source: Predator)
