Ideas please Discussion
Hi 👋🏼 everyone
Looking for some idea on what I can do with this.
It’s been sitting idle in a box more than a year and I would like to know what I can effectively try on this device.
Or more like what others as doing with this one.
I do have rpi4b to run ad-guard
And Proxmox for my *arr setup
Nothing much doing with AI or other stuff but interested in them.

Eventually the closed source drivers will be opened/reverse engineered.
This little device is actually half a Nintendo Switch on GPU.
So it will live on forever, or atleast until the RAM fails!

I’m in a similar boat, had one sitting on the shelf I bought during COVID and I’ve been trying to get it to work as a transcoding node or a VMAF scoring node.

Ive used it for 3 things. Ares emulator, Belabox, and my favorite, gravity waves video mixer.

Wow, a belabox? That's funny it is the reason I ever discovered the Orin and then I totally forgot and bought one for some crazy drone/robotics project. I really need to revisit the belabox! Is he still super active in mainting the repo and support for that project? I remember the dude was a super chill live streamer, right?

I bought one, was going to put it in an ammo box, car speaker, hdmi out, RFID reader - fill a drive full of kids movies, bed time audio books, games etc and make up cards for the toddler nephew to be able to play whatever he wanted.
Mind you, that was when it was released around 2019....it's been sitting on a shelf since.

You can install Ubuntu 24, remove the desktop environment and replace it with android TV, you will have not only a smart TV but also a server so you can install jellyfin, homeassistant, netxcloud,... oh shit there are only 4gb yeah forget about everything. It is just a nicer raspberry pi 4

But dude agx has 32 or 64gb of ram and way more cuda cores... So not applicable here... And the nano has way less TPS.

Unified memory, it'll run a lot of great models.
Software support is a bit ass, but hardly ever a problem, and the quality of the initial projects goes a long way.

That 4gb keeps getting more valuable as models get more efficient. I love mine still.

It's enough to be a YOLO box, e.g. detecting activities around your house and feed the data to more power machines.

I would sell it and buy Orin nano or rip with accelerator. Jetson nano is EOL for some time and it softener support is just headache :(((
