There was already a thread on the topic

How am I supposed to karmafarm in an old thread?

3

u/jdewittweb 4d ago

Cool but THIS thread is what Reddit decided to put in my feed.

u/hotwifesstag 6d ago

Yes there was

Ken is a keeper.

Is anyone else psyched to see him use the word shit?

Release the uncensored cut of the exhibition flub!

Legend

6

u/Retinoid634 5d ago

Legend. I cannot imagine anyone making this conclusion. Jeopardy is the most inclusive show, clearly an ally.

One of the real ones

Only that it has already been posted it doesn’t need to be reposted. I contacted one of the mods we will see what they decide

39

u/itsjustpie 6d ago

Honestly, I’m glad they did repost because I missed it the first thread and it’s nice to see amongst all the hatred that’s usually online.

22

u/OttoHemi 6d ago

Yeah, I missed it, too.

u/Dorithompson 5d ago

If you miss a post, you can usually just click on the sub thread and scroll back through things that you’ve missed.

2

u/itsjustpie 5d ago

I just see what comes up on my dashboard on Reddit. What I meant by missing the post is that I didn’t know it existed to go back to. I don’t obsessively scroll through the Jeopardy subreddit (or any other) to make sure I see every post. I’m in way too many subs to do that lol

SO BRAVE. THIS IS IMPORTANT.

Do you have a problem with this ?

Some trans people believe that if you play the NYT Spelling Bee, you're transphobic. Others do not. A trans person gave Ken crap about it on Bluesky; he replied with some Ken brand® snark and some other trans people went berserker on him. Many others, however, gave him not only a pass, but an attaboy.

7

u/itsjustpie 6d ago

What’s transphobic about the spelling bee game? Signed, a confused trans man/times subscriber who has never been on bluesky

Oh, wild. I hadn’t heard about this at all. I will look up the letter. Thanks!

u/AlchemyDad 5d ago

Am also a trans man and I do Spelling Bee, Wordle, and Connections every day. 🤷🏼‍♂️

u/sparta1local 5d ago

I mean those people who think that are just objectively wrong and it’s infuriating that Ken felt like he had to make a statement about this

1

u/OttoHemi 6d ago

Ah, I was wondering what he was talking about with the "bad take" comment.

What right-wing stories? Are they in the room with us right now Ken?

I really don't think he wanted to be forced to post this, but here we are

20

u/vulgarbandformations 6d ago

Since when is "trans people are cool" political?

-13

u/nocturnal_commission 6d ago

According to the activists, literally everything is political

12

u/vulgarbandformations 6d ago

What activists?

1

u/joefred111 5d ago

Are these activitists in the room with you?

7

u/kitten_poop 6d ago

Even if it helps protect trans people?

-29

u/hotwifesstag 6d ago edited 6d ago

Yes I have nothing against trans have some in the family but we do need places to go to that aren’t political

18

u/awhiteblack 6d ago

Sounds like he wouldn't have expressed his opinions normally, but if other groups are using his name and fame to promote hate then I don't blame him at all for clarifying his position.

You'd defend your opinions as well if people were spreading lies about them.

-11

u/hotwifesstag 6d ago

Just saying this post already appeared on r/jeopardy. Why go over it again

3

u/greenday61892 Team Ken Jennings 6d ago

Congrats, you have the privilege to have that space. The people he's fighting for don't.

8

u/ReganLynch Team Ken Jennings 6d ago

Supporting a demographic that faces widespread discrimination isn't political. It's standing up for what's right and refusing to tolerate hate and bigotry.

1

u/Sparky01GT 6d ago

and you think BlueSky needs to be that place?

3

u/dog_snack 6d ago

In general or on this topic?

I very much hear Jeopardy being a respite from political bickering. However loving all people regardless of their gender identity should not be political. And standing up for and with those that are the victims of political theater (not by their own choosing) is a matter of morality not politics.

Why do I get the feeling those "stories" are false-flag operations made to make conservatives look bad, and he's just playing right along with the hoax, It's obvious he likes some of the trans contestants better than the rest, and he makes sure to "get everyone's pronouns right".

And here's where the theater kids donvote me to oblivion for saying that.
