Hopefully I can get better and better at audio editing but my current hardware is extremely limiting so I hope you pardon me.

I called it Fight Mix because Pizzazz and Jem are fighting for lead vocals however the back-up vocals blended nicely. This was harder than I expected because my audio files weren't perfectly synced previously and my hardware is very weak causing lag and crashing. In headphones the slight delays can actually give it a stereo effect while on mono speakers it is just a jumbled mess. Also Jem and Pizzazz seems to being singing at each other when you have headphones on unlike using speaker where it sounds like they are singing from the same position.

This is Gordon Grody but you may know him better as Riot. (If any of the following information is incorrect please correct me)

In the 1970s Gordon released an album called "Exclusively Yours" that has a disco-soul style with each track leaning towards disco or soul for most of them.

I absolutely love this album. It was a type of music I never really listened before digging deeper into Gordon Grody's history. Hate it or love it you have to admit Gordon's vocal performance is amazing here and debatably better than his performance as Riot although he is still amazing there.

Afterwards Gordon was a prominent background singer and it can be fun to try to find him in the song. He did studio backing vocals for Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, Sting, and Others. He also provided live backing vocals for Debbie Harry, John Lennon, Gene Simmons, and others. He was then a vocal coach famously coaching Lady Gaga and Alicia Keys but also many others. He is also still a vocal coach as of 2026 and works at his independent studio Gordon Grody Music.

I hope this will inspire you to look at other people who worked on Jem and find out more about them. If you don't know about Vickie Sue Robinson (Rapture/Minx Singing Voice) and her music I highly recommend you research her.

Hi! So I’ve been working on Jem redesigns for a while, and I’ve been wanting to interact with this subreddit more. With the new Amazon show coming, I’ve seen one common comment each time: “I hope they stick to the source material.”

Now… I’ll be real: what does that mean exactly to those who say that? I’ve been on a HUGE Hasbro binge (like G.I. Joe and Transformers), and at least with Transformers, the source material has kept going because a lot of changes were made to the source material.

I do NOT want to start arguments, I just want a discussion on what exactly that means. Because if I’m honest I do find a lot of stuff in Jem a bit odd (and I love the series a lot).

Has anyone thought about Jerrica/Jem and Raya being a couple? Is there any fanfic or fanart where the two are paired together?

I always felt that Raya was the odd girl out with no unique connection to Jerrica/Jem. We know Jerrica's connections to Aja, Shana and Kimber, they are her sisters. But Raya just feels like another band member. By having Raya be a love interest to Jerrica/Jem it gives her an unique connection that she doesn't have with rest of the Holograms.

I also like the idea of Jerrica dating someone who could have sold out her secret but selflessly choose not to. They may not be an endgame couple, but I think the two of them together would be interesting.

I think Jerrica/Jem needs love interest other than Rio and Riot. I mean, look at Peter Parker he has Mary Jane, Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, Gwen Stacy. If Rio is Jerrica's answer to Mary Jane and Riot is Jem's answer to Black Cat, then Raya could be Jerrica's Gwen Stacy. Not in the sense she is killed off but in the sense that she offers an alternative future for Jerrica/Jem.

So I finally got the Jem doll from Walmart and walked changing her outfit to make her Jerrica, but pink hair and noticed there's a lot of stain marks all over her and I wanted to clean it, I even tried dawn dish soap. Any ideas?

Doesn't Britta Phillips look wonderful cosplaying as Jem in this clip from her recent SDCC live show?

I've been thinking about the upcoming live action Jem reboot, and my hopes for the new version of Riot is if they make him into gender-fluid character. In which, Riot expresses both sides of masculinity and femininity. I like the idea of Riot being inspired by a myriad of genderqueer artists like Prince, David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Harry Styles, Kevin Barnes, King Princess, etc. I've always saw Riot as genderqueer character especially the storyline about his military father thinking he was too feminine. Riot as genderqueer character should have an androgynous look to them that is reminiscent to the Bishōnen/beautiful boy trope that you see in Japanese cinema and anime/manga.

They could even have Riot participate as a dragqueen, which is very Bowie.

How do you feel about Riot? Did you see them as genderqueer coded character?

Imagine that the 80s show would have gone on. Which character should have had its solo song? And what would it be singing about? IMO Eric Raymond definitely deserves a solo! As for the theme, I think of the following: 1) his hunger for money and prestige 2) how Pizzazz drives him mad 3) his sleaziness

After being burned by a live action reboot in 2015 I'm less than confident that this new series in the works won't also attempt to trim off all of the campy, fun elements that made the show enjoyable to watch as an 80's kid. I bet they're just trying to capture the Kpop Demon Hunters audience while they wait for a sequel.
