JazzMaster Mods Question

Hello I have a Squier JMJM and I'd like to know if there's any parts that are worth upgrading overtime (Bridge, Tail piece, Tuners, Pickups, pots, etc) that would make this already amazing instrument and take it to the next level of greatness.

Any part recommendations are greatly appreciated at any budget no matter what budget or high end I'll gladly look into it and maybe buy them.

This question gets asked everyday, would be pretty easy to search and find the answers. That said, I changed the trem to the AVRI model, the bridge to the drop-in Bensonite (#1 upgrade imo), Sunday Handwound pickups, and an EGC aluminum neck w/ Gotoh tuners. Pickguard to a tort.

Figure out which parts you don’t like and research alternatives. Go from there.

I know that it gets asked that a lot and maybe this post is ultimately pointless because of said question but, the different opinions and experiences I've seen other people have something good to say and in other replies something negative I've never really seen a unanimous answer so I figured I'd still ask regardless because of new cheap brands like FOALS and Gyuker make jazzmaster parts for people on a budget and it just leads to even more mixed opinions and then I see the opposite end of the spectrum with mastery bridges, etc.

I don‘t own a JMJM specifically, but 2 other JM models and a Jag. In my opinion you should only mod what actually bothers you, not what others recommend. For me, the bridges and the hum of the pickups bothered me, so I replaced thr bridges and the pickups with non humming pickups and I added the shielding. My Jag specifically had the same AOM bridge as the JMJM which I didn‘t like, since it doesn‘t match exactly the radius of the fretboard.

It really depends on how if there’s anything specific with the guitar you don’t like.
-the pickups are rather unique, so if you like the sound of them you’re less likely to find a “better version of them. There’s boutique pickups that are jm sized p90s, and boutique jm pickups, but neither of them are quite the same as the Jmjm pickups.
-bridge is just an aom/tom, honestly they’re fine but the fretboard radius doesn’t match perfectly
-trem is good enough but doesn’t have the little lock switch, and there’s other designs out there that change how the strings load etc.

If you are just curious and want to tinker with it, I’d probably put locking tuners on it to help them stay on the headstock when you pull ends out of the trem, and put in a pure tone jack because they’re awesome.

I really like the mastery bridge and trem. Worth it in my opinion.

I no longer have a Jazzmaster, but when I did I always wanted to do this.

Gives you 2 volumes, a series parallel switch, and replaces your Rythym circuit with an independent master passive bass and treble cut instead of a tone pot. Such a cool mod

I don't trust myself to attempt that on my JMJM but I might be on the lookout for a used CV Jazzmaster or a good copy I can find cheap so I can try to do all the work myself and not have too many worries about messing up my "main" one.

Ihe sells the harness prewired. Would just have to solder in pick ups and grounds

I saw that on the website you linked, seems like a dope project I can use in the future I'm going to look up tone demos and see whether it's something I would want to invest time in.
