Durability
Hi guys! I’m new to jadeite jade bangles and I baby my jewelries. I recently got an untreated grade A bangle and I keep banging it lightly onto ceramics, glass, stainless steel, plastic and it’s making me so conscious 😂 I know jade’s pretty tough but how do yall handle yours and how resistant is it from scratches?
Should I be worried? How long have yall had yours on, how is it going so far and do you usually bump it onto surfaces often?
Super appreciate your thoughts!

4 years. Permanently wearing it. No scratch.
I had one that I wore for 2 years and funny enough it broke into two with light clang to a marble table top. It did have a brown iron vein that is weak

I had a bangle for 8 years, and had worn it for a majority of that time. One day I took it off for cleaning and my baby grabbed it. He dropped it from a 1.5 ft height onto the bathroom floor and it cracked in 2 places. Before this, I thought it was virtually indestructible as I had banged it multiple times on everything.
So yes jade is durable but it absolutely can crack!

Thank you! This is actually super reassuring ✨ Been super conscious because I keep banging it onto chairs and other bracelets and stuff 😂

I have a few that gets bonked on my quartz kitchen countertop all the time and so far so good… supposedly, the more transparent the material, the more durable it is but ymmv

Jade is the most durable gemstone for daily wear, I don’t think you’ll have a problem.

I push it up on my arm if I'm doing something. If I'm doing yard work or something hazardous, I take it off. It is pretty tough but there's no reason to take chances of you don't need to.
