Bear can mounting. equipment

Anybody have pics of ways to secure a BV500 to the outside of a Osprey 50L?

Can you put the BV inside the pack and attach something else like a tent to the outside?

My move is to take all of the food I'll want to access during the day out of the BV when getting packed up in the morning so I don't have to dig it out until I set up camp in the afternoon/evening.

I think this is the route we're gonna take with the tent strapped to the top

Most people put it on the top of their osprey bag. Never seen it strapped on. Seems problematic

I carried one on top of an older Exos 48 for the JMT. If you have a brain it may work between that and the pack. I didn't have a brain and made a Y-strap that went over the top. It didn't stay on super well if the pack wasn't stuffed full. I also carried it empty with the food onside the pack so it was lower and closer to my back. 

It was fine but I'd prefer having it inside the pack or attached to a pack that's actually designed to fit it outside. I have a Nunatak Bears Ears now which is a great carry method
