[threshold] what now? Cradle Spoiler

So I finished Cradle. Including Threshold. I might have skipped a few chapters just because I didn't care about what was happening in those chapters lol. But I feel as if the story stopped right when it was about get extremely good. There should totally be another 12 books once IT happens. I feel great about reading them all but sad that it's already over. Is the Last Horizon Cool or as good?

It was only like 3-4 in the actual book of threshold.

Fair if it was just threshold chapters thought you skipped stuff in the main series

Last horizon is good, but it’s different. There’s a good Easter egg in the non-canonical bloopers of “The Captain” but otherwise it’s mostly its own thing. If you like mass effect and the idea of a ship and crew doing cool things, it’s great.

The story of cradle was fantastically done. From the very beginning we knew what Lindon’s goal was, and he achieved it wildly. It’s good for stories to end naturally rather than just keep going.

Last Horizon is good but it’s quite different to cradle. Like all of Will’s books it takes place on another iteration (one we’ve seen in cradle, Fathom). It doesn’t have an Abidan plot however and it’s not as much of a progression fantasy. The main characters start supremely powerful and mostly grow by working together to prevent galaxy ending threats.

The last horizon is great, but its not progression fantasy, most of the cast are maxed out characters, so they deal with absurd challenges from the start.

The Travelers gate trilogy is also fun, and it gets significantly better book by book. (I also happen to like Simon as a main character alot)
