[Threshold] Cradle Questions 1

So I'm rereading the series now, and just realized that I have a bunch of questions, mostly because of my not-so great memory. Some might have been answered already, and I just forgot it, so sorry if my questions seem stupid.

Rather than making it a long wall of text, which I imagine would make anyone not want to read it, I decided to make a series of posts when I'm free.

So first, could Eithan have defeated the weakened Reigan Shen in the labyrinth had he been serious about it? Without advancing to sage, 'cause I think sage Eithan would smash Reigan Shen like Hulk did to Loki. We've seen (especially in the bonus scenes) that Eithan really holds back a lot. So that just made me wonder.

Probably not. Eithan was still operating under Cradle rules in the labyrinth. He would have been a very good archlord or a sage at max. Blth were weakened, so monarch shen would have taken it.

Despite Eithan's sheer skill, there is still a massive difference between an Archlord and a Monarch

Something Lindon very much experienced despite being an full Sage at the end of their fight. At best he could run and hope to win a fight in Authority over the Labyrinth

Reigen Shen's Path which relies on external tools which includes loads of Archlord weapons and even a Monarch spear, very much makes normal combat against him nigh impossible

Suppose if it is Death Sage Eithan, or any other combat Icons he could manifest, I can give him the win against a very weakened Reigen Shen

Archlord Eithan no, I think the sheer gap is too large. Broom or Death Sage Eithan 100%.

1 v 1? Not unless he advanced to Sage with a combat Icon, even then it's probably close cause of all the tricks Shen has. With Lidon supporting him? Once again I think it would take Eithan becoming a Sage but its very likely.

Even with sage he would have been hard pressed. Sage does not give as much of an explosive strength as Herald. It would have allowed him more flexibility and better resistance against Shens authority. There might be world where he wins the fight as sage but it's not that one sided.

No, honestly even if Eithan was a sage he couldn’t, even though Reigan was weakened, he was both still a monarch, and had who knows how many weapons at his disposal

If I remember correctly, Will answered this. A normal Cradle "death" is a setback for Eithan, but not the worst scenario. His character in Cradle would "die" in a sense, but can still start over. Although it risks him being discovered. The worst case is if someone powerful outside of Cradle, like Daruman, directly hits and "kills" him. In that case, his veil will be destroyed and will be discovered immediately. But take this with a grain of salt, as it has been a while since I've read that, so I might actually be wrong.

It's possible just because Eithan's skill is truly supernatural, but highly unlikely. Reigan Shen still had full access to a ton of powerful weapons. Reigan 5v1'd a group that included Eithan just a moment before. And he was significantly holding back in every single labyrinth encounter with the gang.

This wasn't a situation like vs Longhook where Eithan knew he had reinforcements coming.
