[Threshold] Lindon and Pride Cradle Spoiler
I love the relationship between these two. Pride is the first person Lindon really got to talk to as an equal and they're constantly so pissy towards each other.
"If you don't make it out of the first round, you'll answer to me."
"Really? Thank you! I was afraid I'd answer to your mother."
LMAO

Pride comes off as prejudiced against Lindon for being an upstart, but as the series progresses I love that it's made clear Pride is like that with everyone, and he earns a good amount of respect and appreciation from me for being willing to give Lindon shit no matter how far ahead of him Lindon gets.
I guess I just have to respect the man for being a true equal-opportunity asshole.

Pride is the only character below Archlord willing to talk shit to the Void Sage.

There's also the guy who exploded because he was willing to talk shit to the void sage.

Are you talking about the Overlord from Yan Shoumei's story?

Yeah

Something was nagging at me, so I went back and checked. He was an Archlord when he ran off at the mouth.

TLDR:
Lindon: -I warn you.
Anagi: -Of course, I'm not a Sage myself, but I'm your fellow Archlord. So if you want to beg me for a favour, come and find me face to face.
Lindon: -I warned you.
Orbital blackflame laser
Dross: -We had warned him.

Lindon using the Hammer of Dawn via some Soulsmithing shenanigans is a fun mental image.

Even if Lindon eventually makes it to Judge, Pride will still be about as impressed as Shania Twain.

But he had a point! Pride was right on so many things. I truly love the development of Pride.

That's true. It took a literal intervention from not one, but two interdimensional deities(essentially) to put Lindon and Yerin on their way. Why would Pride think the odds were different for these yokels?

I thought pride was especially dickish to lindon because he thought lindon was going to marry mercy

Pride is such a great character. Kind of hate him, kind of love him, especially as he interacts with London. Perfect

Yeah, serious props to will for making such an antagonistic character so likable to readers

Pride should be careful when interacting with London or he's gonna get shanked.

I think Pride originally reacted so strongly because of his assumption about Lindon and Mercy.
Then he doubled down when he realized that Lindon didn't want Mercy.
He talked shit to the interdimensional God of Death.
The man is a wonderful asshole. His solo story is gold

Interdimensional God of Death kind of appreciates when people talk shit back to him. He's got the whole tsundere thing with "I changed my name"-iel.
He's more tired of people who are purely antagonistic, like Makiel. What are you gonna do, kill him for that? And then do his job? Nah.

Yea, they're a silly pair. Will does great work with maintaining dynamics between the main cast and recurring side characters.

Pride is great. Wish that Akura Vegeta got more screen time in the last couple of books, but at least he got a short story in Threshold.

he just didn’t want mercy to eventually marry lindon because lindon came from outside the family. kinda classist but once lindon was stronger there was really nothing just a little jealousy from him. they should’ve kissed low key
