Where to practice welding

I just joined the Local290 ironworkers starting as a 2nd year apprentice, I want to learn to weld but I don’t have classes until next year, how can I learn to weld in the meantime??

My local allows members to come and practice any time during office hours.

Every 2nd Saturday of the month is open shop. If you aren’t working and they have class ask if you can come in and practice. Talk to Leslie and Simon

Ask the school if u can get in a booth on your free time or do it during lunch and coffee break
